If you've ever stubbed your toe, you're well aware of what real pain feels like. But for some reason, that wasn't enough for Coyote Peterson of Brave Wilderness. He decided to track down a tarantula hawk, the largest species of wasp in North America which is known for having the second most powerful sting in the insect world.

Then he decided to sting himself with it...

Despite the powerful stink, the tarantula hawk is actually pretty timid. They're found in New Mexico and will generally only sting humans when in distress.

The sting, which is one of the few to rank as a 4 on the Schmidt pain index, is used to paralyze a tarantula so that the female tarantula hawk can lay eggs inside its body.

As the egg grows, it eats away at the tarantula's organs until it bursts out in a deal that seems very one-sided.

And despite the pain, Peterson says he's going to one-up himself and get stung by a bullet ant, which has the most powerful sting in the insect world. Just look at these guys try it...
