In preparation for their Halloween celebrations, Disney World Orlando has announced a new look for their Princess Jasmine. But the outfit has some Disney fans in an uproar after rumors surfaced that the change was all due to complaints about her previous "more revealing" outfit.

According to popular Disney blog Inside The Magic, Jasmine will now be "dressed in a one-piece pants and dress combo that definitely gives the character some more coverage." They state that may even be the main reason for the change, alleging that the park received complaints about Jasmine's former outfit.

There's even speculation that Disney covered her up because the actress was getting catcalled or harassed by male park goers.

Aladdin also received a makeover, from this former "street clothes," to a royal jacket and turban. Another Disney blogger, Kenny the Pirate, claims that a member of staff said the new outfits are part of an overall redesign and not a reaction to guest complaints.

In response to queries about whether the costume is permanent, the blogger wrote, "Well, as I always say, 'Nothing in Walt Disney World is permanent.' But, it is the regular meet and greet dress that Disney World wants to provide on a daily basis. However, if you preferred the original outfit that more closely matches the movie, you should contact Disney World. Mickey’s redesign that they wanted to use for the new Mickey’s Friendship Faire only lasted about a week because guests didn’t like it."

Unsurprisingly, the speculation has led to a lot of mixed reactions on social media.

A commenter on Kenny the Pirate's blog wrote, "I think the original look fits the disney Jasmine better. That said, I think this new costume fits what the 'real' Jasmine might have worn, if Agrabah was real. People forget quickly that this story was about an indian princess, and this clothing style more accurately references that culture. Neither would be accurate of a Muslim one, unless Jasmine was a harem slave, that is."
