Is he being catfished? On the season premiere of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days audiences were introduced to real-life couple Caesar and his girlfriend Maria.
The Jacksonville native initially met the European beauty five years ago on a dating website, Anastasia Date, which links Americans with Ukrainian women.
“Still a hopeless romantic, it is very important for me to have somebody that’s my soulmate, somebody that I can walk the beach with. I think I finally found the one woman that I’ve been searching for all my life,” Caesar said on the TLC series. The reality star explained that he initially paid $450 to the dating website just to send Maria a card and flowers, which eventually prompted her to respond to his email.
“She emailed me back and there was immediate sparks. She is kind, smart, funny… she makes me feel special,” he confessed. Adding, “She is my soulmate.” While Caesar is convinced he will marry Maria one day, many fans think the 90 Day Fiance star is being scammed by the Ukraine native.

Each month, the pedicurist revealed that he sends Maria approximately $800, which he has done for the past five years. During the premiere episode, viewers watched as Caesar tried to set up multiple meetings with his girlfriend in Ukraine, but was met with different excuses as to why they could not see each other.
"I have this fear that if I don't meet her soon, I'm going to lose her forever and she'll find someone else," he told cameras. Caesar even borrowed $2,000 from his boss hoping to meet Maria in Mexico. However, after sending her the money, she told her boyfriend that she could not meet him because of a war happening between Russia and Ukraine. After four failed attempts at finally seeing each other in person, fans took to Twitter to voice their opinions on the TLC star’s love life.
One fan tweeted, “The whole time Caesar’s story is on, I feel like we need to call in #catfish cuz he is being scammed #90DayFiance.” Another fan added, “I have never felt as sorry for any character as I do for Caesar! She is 100000% using this poor soul. THAT’s her business.”
A producer asked Caesar if Maria ever says his name in any of the videos she has sent him, even questioning if he thinks she could possibly be sending them to other men.
“I hope she’s not sending those videos to anyone else,” he replied. “She doesn’t call him by name because the same video she sends to Caesar she’s sending to countless others who are also sending her money every month,” wrote one viewer.
