What Is ABC's Cast From the Past Week — and What Shows Are Involved?
Updated Oct. 7 2019, 11:38 a.m. ET
If nostalgia is your thing, you're going to love the programming on ABC this week. As part of their "Cast From the Past" weeklong event, they're uniting your favorite TV casts of the present with some faves from days of yore. Several of the networks most popular shows are throwing back to shows from decades past, like Cheers, Charmed, and House.
Here's a complete guide to the ABC throwback week, Cast From the Past:
Monday
Cast From the Past Week kicks off tonight with both Dancing With the Stars and The Good Doctor participating. DWTS's Top 10 will bring back Season 17 contestant Leah Remini as a guest judge. While she's returned to the show before as a guest co-host filling in for Erin Andrews, this will be the first time Leah plays the role of guest judge.
Immediately following, The Good Doctor will bring guest star Robert Sean Leonard from House. Both The Good Doctor and House were created by David Shore, making this an apt crossover. However, rather than play a doctor, Robert is a fisherman who is... rather attached to his latest catch.
Tuesday
Three ABC comedies will have throwback casting on Tuesday, starting with The Conners, which reunites John Goodman with his Blues Brothers 2000 co-star Dan Aykroyd. Bless This Mess reunites Lake Bell with her Wet Hot American Summer co-star Michael Ian Black, and then the big Cast From the Past event of the night is on Black-Ish when Tracee Ellis Ross's Girlfriends co-stars show up.
Wednesday
The Goldbergs will feature a mini Cheers reunion with Kirstie Alley, Rhea Perlman, John Ratzenberger, and George Wendt. Then Single Parents star Leighton Meester gets to play opposite her husband (and Life Partners co-star) Adam Brody, who plays her ex-boyfriend.
Thursday
Grey's Anatomy is bringing two-thirds of the Halliwell sisters from Charmed to Grey-Sloan Memorial. Grey's executive producers Krista Vernoff and Andy Reaser both wrote for the WB show. Then A Million Little Things has a mini reunion between Romany Malco (Rome) and his Think Like a Man co-star Jerry Ferrara.
Friday
American Housewife is having a full-on Drew Carey Show reunion, bringing Diedrich Baker's former co-stars Drew Carey, Ryan Stiles, and Kathy Kinney into the story. Then Fresh Off the Boat is basically a Crazy Rich Asians reunion for Constance Wu and Ken Jeong.
Sunday
The Rookie finishes out the week with a mini Castle reunion. Though I'm sorry to report it does not involve Stana Katic, two of Nathan Fillion's other co-stars, Seamus Dever and Jon Huertas will guest star.
