Fans of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills are eager to see what Season 14 holds after an explosive Season 13. During the reality show's off-season, rumors swirled about who would be joining the cast in a full-time or "friend of" capacity.
In May 2024, Kyle Richards' close friend and Halloween co-star Jamie Lee Curtis spilled some pertinent tea about the upcoming lineup.
Jamie shared in an Instagram post that her friend, author and podcaster Amanda de Cadenet, is a part of the show as a friend due to her and Kyle's bond. While celebrating her friend's Housewives win, Jamie described Amanda as someone who "will bring her cool rebel/rock/wife, feminism and advocacy for women to that group." Of course, we want to know more about the Horror Queen-approved cast member, her family, and how she's connected to the RHOBH OG, Kyle.
Who is Amanda de Cadenet's husband?
We all know by now that you don't need to be a real-life wife (or even in a relationship) to be on The Real Housewives. However, it's always fun when a newbie does. Amanda, who has many jobs as a writer, photographer, and the host of her podcast, The Conversation, is also a rock star's wife and has been for quite some time.
Amanda married Nick Valensi in 2006 and have been together ever since. Nick is the lead guitarist of The Strokes and has been with the band since 1998.
Additionally, Nick founded his band, CRX, in 2013, and often tours with and promotes both bands on his social media handles.
Amanda and Nick began dating in 2001, several years after her divorce from her first husband, Duran Duran bass guitarist John Taylor. Through her first marriage, Amanda had a daughter, Atlanta Noo Taylor. She and Nick also have two more children — fraternal twins Silva and Ella.
In an interview with The Cut, the UK native and journalist shared how she manages her various roles.
"Everything is color-coded in my calendar because I’m doing multiple things," she said in 2022. "I’m a photographer; I interview people; I have multiple podcasts; I have shows in development; I’m a mom; I’m a pet owner; I’m a wife; I’m a friend. So, in my Google Calendar, each thing has a color. Like, blue is self-care. Red is interviews for one podcast; purple is interviews for another. A woman that I work with named Stephanie is basically the brain of all that structure. It’s like Tetris."
"And I’m a visual person and a tactile person, so I screengrab it and print it out every week," she continued. "And when I’m really overwhelmed, which I am periodically, I can look at the day and I cross things off and go: 'You are almost done.'"
Amanda and Kyle's friendship will play out on 'RHOBH.'
Amanda's seemingly solid marriage makes her a refreshing addition to RHOBH amid tons of divorce drama. During Season 13, Kyle and her husband, Mauricio Umansky's separation was a significant part of Kyle's storyline for the season. Dorit Kemsley also announced in May 2024 that she and her husband, PK Kemsley, were separating months after rumors swirled they were getting divorced.
While Amanda can't relate to separation drama, she and Kyle are connected, as fans will see on Season 14 of RHOBH.
In May 2024, Amanda and Kyle were spotted filming together at Sutton Stracke’s Surrealism Ball for one of the cast's events. Among them were the rest of the cast — Garcelle Beauvais, Erika Jayne, Dorit, , and rumored newbie Bozoma Saint John, per Reality Blurb.
Queens of Bravo shared footage from the event and showed Amanda engaging with several of the party's attendees. Based on the video, we can't tell just how tight Amanda and Kyle are. However, we'll know more when RHOBH returns!
