Amelia Parson's Legacy Lives on in 'NCIS: New Orleans'

Fan-favorite crime procedural NCIS: New Orleans has been going strong in its sixth season and viewers were shocked most recently when main cast member Christopher Lasalle was killed off the series. 

But in anticipation for the mid-season finale, fans are thinking about Amelia Parsons, the hitwoman we came to meet and love back in Season 4.

We first met Amelia Parsons in Season 4, when she was hired as a hitwoman by Associate Attorney General Eric Barlow to target Dwayne Cassius Pride. It slowly came out that Amelia had her own motivations for killing Pride, as she suspected him of having been responsible for the death of her own husband, John Stone.

But because this is NCIS we're talking about, the plot gets slightly more convoluted from there — and that's an understatement. Season 4 concludes with Amelia shooting Pride three times in the chest, and walking away smiling, presuming that she managed to kill her prey.

Obviously, Pride made it out alive and was able to continue working at NCIS, but Amelia made a return the following season when the tables turned and Pride was actually calling Amelia in to help him with a case he was working. See, Pride needed Amelia's help in locating secret files of an underground criminal group in order to save people who had been kidnapped by a group of terrorists.

One of these hostages was Pride's own father, who tried to shoot the terrorist in order to save his son. When Amelia went to draw fire once again to attempt to kill Pride for a second time, his father jumps in the way and ends up taking the bullet for him. As a consequence for killing his dad, Pride shoots Amelia many times and kills her then and there.

Amelia Parsons is brought to life by Michigan-born Ellen Hollman who many might recognize for her appearances in shows like Malcolm in the Middle, Spartacus, and Into the Badlands, where she plays the character of Zypher.

She actually also played a totally different character, Special Agent Tina Larsen, in the regular NCIS on two occasions — once in 2006, then again in 2015. Most recently, she's appeared as Tara in 9-1-1, which is expanding its franchise with 9-1-1 Lone Star in the coming months.
