Television hosting can be a pretty lucrative business — especially when you make it onto one of the major networks. Fox News's Sean Hannity, for example, is reportedly worth around $250 million thanks to his time on the network. But what happens when you fall from grace?

Just ask former MSNBC News star Ashleigh Banfield, who separated from the network after a controversial statement on the way that cable news channels cover war.

"They cleared the tapes out and put a desk and a TV in there, and a computer and phone. It was pretty blatant. The message was crystal clear," she said in a 2009 interview.

However, since 2021, it seems that Ashleigh has been thriving at NewsNation, where she appears weeknights on her self-titled show. In fact, she even went viral recently for her unique coverage of the Luigi Mangione case. So, where do her finances stand now?

What is Ashleigh Banfield's net worth in 2024?

Though her time with MSNBC and NBC ended on negative terms, it certainly did a lot to boost her career and public image. Aside from her time there, she also hosted CourtTV (which was later renamed TruTV) in 2005. Over a decade later, she even returned to TruTV in 2020 after leaving NBC, hosting her own true crime documentary series called Judgment with Ashleigh Banfield.

She has also tried her hand at acting, portraying herself in the Netflix series House of Cards, where she was depicted interviewing the fictional Claire Underwood.

Her official net worth isn't public information, but as of 2024, her various television credits are estimated to have earned her a net worth of about $3 million.

NewsNation allows Ashleigh to deliver "unbiased journalism."

In an interview with The Wrap in 2021, when Ashleigh first started hosting Banfield on NewsNation, she spoke about what sets the network apart from other positions she's held in the past.

"Right now as a news consumer, I find it exhausting to try to find a full story out of the half stories that I see on each channel," she said. "It requires channel surfing in order to find out why there’s such outrage, but the outrage is manufactured a lot of times, and once the other ingredients of the story are added to the mixing bowl, the outrage abates, and that’s not good for ... ratings."

She continued, "Because everyone has retreated into echo chambers, they’ve left a void behind, and that void happens to include tens of millions of Americans who are independent-minded and who are starving for an unbiased news product," adding that her decision to move to NewsNation was to "serve those people who would like to see journalism returned to the way it used to be."
