Austin Porter Surprised Everyone With the Announcement of His Son's Birth

Today, Austin Porter, the lead singer of PRETTYMUCH, took to Instagram to announce that he and his girlfriend of two years welcomed the birth of his son, Theodore Hudson William Porter. The news surprised fans, who had no idea he and girlfriend Ansley Mitchell were even expecting. 

Two hours ago, Austin posted a photo of baby Theodore and himself. His caption read, "So today i became a father to the most amazing baby boy Theodore Hudson William Porter I can’t wait to watch him grow and do great things! I know you guys will have questions, and I can’t wait to share with you what we’ve been through. But right now I ask that you give me and ansley time to settle in to being parents! Thank you for all your support much love -the porter family"

Ansley also posted a photo of their new bundle of love on her Instagram page, and wrote a detailed explanation of the birthing process, telling fans that she gave birth naturally and suffered from some complications. She hemorrhaged shortly after delivery, losing a significant amount of blood. Luckily, she sought medical help immediately, so both Mama and Baby are OK. Unfortunately, she's unable to see baby Theo or Austin until she's released from the hospital, due to COVID-19 safety protocols. Both Theo and Austin are at home together now.

Ansley wrote,"Last night I gave birth to my first child completely natural 💪🏽 I labored for three full days with absolutely no pain medication and birthed the sweetest little soul completely natural at 7:04 pm. Theodore Hudson William Porter weighed 7lbs10oz at birth and measured 21.5inches. Theodore Hudson I am so happy you made me a mama. Mommy and daddy are gonna love you forever 🖤 I sadly had some complications. I hemorrhaged right after delivery and lost a lot of blood very fast and had to get rushed by the paramedics to the the nearest hospital emergency room. I’m in the hospital now and will be for possibly a few days. So sadly I can’t see Theo or Austin at all till I’m out due to hospital restrictions because of covid-19 but I’m glad they are at home happy and healthy and safe." 

Everyone is happy Ansley and Theo are safe. PRETTYMUCH band member Edwin Hornet wrote, "I'm an Uncle! Love you bro." An hour ago, Ansley also shared a beautiful maternity photoshoot to Instagram, writing, "Wish I had more pictures of me and Theo but I had to rush to the hospital so fast I don’t :( here’s some of my favorite maternity pictures." 

"Such a beautiful family," one Instagram user wrote. Another said, "y’all are gonna be the best parents omg." Looking at this slideshow, it's so easy to see the endless love Ansley and Austin have for each other, and the boundless love they'll have for their beautiful son.
