Barbara Kavovit Is Serving Up Serious "Boss Lady" Vibes on 'RHONY'

When Season 11 of The Real Housewives of New York City premiered on March 6, fans were introduced to new cast member Barbara Kavovit. Though the businesswoman is technically just a "friend" on the series, she’s already made quite an impression.

The Bronx-born mother-of-one is the founder of a home improvement company called Stand-Ins and serves as the CEO of Evergreen Construction. 

"I mean, it’s really exciting to be able to be the boss," Barbara told Us Weekly in an interview. "I like to call myself 'boss lady,' being the CEO of a construction company and having 75 guys at any given time on your job site, and being the person that is ultimately responsible for the schedule, the budget, change orders, making sure everything happens on time because there’s so much money at stake at all times."

The author — whose novel, "Heels of Steel," comes out in June — is also a good friend of Luann de Lesseps’. The pair has known each other for over 14 years and initially met on a playground.

The entrepreneur isn’t married and hasn’t talked about her dating life on social media, but she does post pictures with her son, Zach. On LinkedIn, he’s listed as Zachary Kavovit-Murphy, and is set to graduate from Hobart and William Smith Colleges in 2020. 

The student also works as an Executive Project Manager at Evergreen Construction. Barbara previously revealed that her father inspired her love of tools when she was just a little girl. 

"We built many different projects together," she told Us. "You know, it was a transformation with your dad and...he was so patient and caring and nurturing."

Barbara’s net worth is rumored to be $2 million, but that number hasn’t been confirmed by any reputable sources. The figure also seems fishy given that the reality star filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in 2015. 

According to Radar Online, Barbara owed over $1 million to creditors after racking up $25,000 in American Express credit card debt and $86,000 in unpaid rent, among other expenses. At the time, she listed her monthly income as $20,000 and her monthly spending as $12,670.
