See What the Cast of 'Boy Meets World' Looks Like 28 Years Later
Updated April 6 2021, 3:01 p.m. ET
It seems like just yesterday we were sitting in our living room watching Boy Meets World, singing along to the catchy theme song, and wishing we went to school with Cory, Shawn, and Topanga.
Instead, nearly 28 years have passed since the premiere. But luckily for us, much of the original cast is still closer than ever. This is proven the most by the veteran team managing to pull off a successful reboot starring Rowan Blanchard as Riley, Cory and Topanga's daughter, and of course, everyone's favorite teacher Mr. Feeny.
Girl Meets World ended in 2021, but it had a solid three-season run.
So, what's been going on with Ben Savage, Rider Strong, Danielle Fishel, and the rest of the original cast? Keep scrolling to find out what these former child stars are doing today!
1. Ben Savage (Cory Matthews)
One half of the greatest TV couple of all time, Ben Savage grew up before our eyes as Cory Matthews. However, no amount of time could stop Cory from loving Topanga — and they eventually tied the knot and welcomed a daughter named Riley (we're still not over Girl Meets World getting canceled).
Since then, Ben has starred in the TV show Still the King as Gene and done some promotional stunts for Panera Bread.
2. Rider Strong (Shawn Hunter)
As Cory's BFF Shawn, Rider Strong was always getting his friend in trouble. However, he always managed to talk his way out of detention too.
Fast forward nearly three decades and Rider is doing voice-over work for series such as Star vs. the Forces of Evil. He is also happily married and welcomed a son in 2015.
3. Danielle Fishel (Topanga Lawrence)
Topanga was the ultimate feminist icon on Boy Meets World (we still remember that lipstick scene) — so it's no surprise Cory fell in love with her in middle school.
Now, Danielle is transitioning her efforts. She has redirected to working behind the cameras, helming episodes of Disney's hit show Sydney to the Max. She also appeared in a guest spot on Drop the Mic in 2018.
4. William Daniels (George Feeny)
We still scream "Mr. Feeny" in our best Eric Matthews voice every now and then.
At 93 years old, the actor revisited his role for the Girl Meets World reboot — and it wouldn't have been the same without him.
5. Will Friedle (Eric Matthews)
Cory's older brother, Eric (played by the hilarious Will Friedle), was the perfect mix of an annoying older sibling and a trusted confidant.
You might have heard his voice on several popular animated series over the last 10 years, including Teen Titans Go! and Guardians of the Galaxy.
6. Betsy Randle (Amy Matthews)
One of the best TV moms of all time, Amy Matthews was always there to give advice to Cory, Eric, and Shawn (whom the Matthews practically adopted).
In 2020, Betsy was still acting and actually appeared in two films: To The Beat!: Back 2 School and Painter.
7. William Russ (Alan Matthews)
Mr. Matthews went from ultimate TV dad to ultimate TV grandad on Girl Meets World. In between, he starred in movies and TV shows such as American History X, Boston Legal, and Bosch.
8. Matthew Lawrence (Jack Hunter)
Matthew Lawrence was a bonafide '90s heartthrob — so it's no surprise he was cast on the ABC series as Shawn's half-brother, Jack.
Today, the Mrs. Doubtfire star is still acting and has been in movies like Double Threat and Kurt. He also co-starred with fellow '90s TV star Melissa Joan Hart in the show Melissa & Joey.
And Matthew is now married to DWTS pro-dancer Cheryl Burke.
9. Trina McGee (Angela Moore)
Shawn Hunter found love with Angela during the Boy Meets World later years — and fans were devastated to learn that she is married to someone else on the reboot. Since she appeared in Girl Meets World, Trina hasn't taken on too many other acting roles.
However, we still love Angela and can't wait to see her on our TV screens again.
10. Maitland Ward (Rachel McGuire)
As Jack and Eric's roommate, Rachel seamlessly fit in with the OG cast of Boy Meets World — including Topanga and Angela. More than 20 years later, Maitland Ward, who played Rachel, is still making headlines for her fantastic Comic-Con costumes. And, more recently, she gained new attention for her successful OnlyFans account, which she claims earns her six figures per month.
11. Lee Norris (Stuart Minkus)
Lee Norris went from playing lovable Minkus on Boy Meets World to "Mouth" on One Tree Hill, then back to Minkus on Girl Meets World.
Lee's most recent ambitious starring role was in the 2020 blockbuster film Greyhound alongside Tom Hanks and Elisabeth Shue.
12. Anthony Tyler Quinn (Jonathan Turner)
Who didn't have a crush on the motorcycle-riding Mr. Turner?
As of late, the hot-rod heartthrob has starred in roles on the likes of FX's miniseries Feud, where he played Wendell Corey. Beyond that, he also starred in a passion project short film titled A Hard Gamble.
