While dating fellow crew members is typical in the various franchises, the majority of those relationships do not go the distance.

There's nothing like a brewing showmance to keep reality fans entertained. Bravo's Below Deck franchise has been a great source of entertainment in that regard, and Season 9 of Below Deck Med is continuing this tradition. Gael Cameron and Nathan Gallagher kick things off by attempting to meet secretly away from the cameras, only to get caught. In addition to breaking the fourth wall, the other aspect that made this moment stand out is that Gael is in a relationship, which created some controversy.
Over the series' previous eight seasons, there have been an equal amount of sweet and very annoying romances, aka "boatmances." Boatmances have also been the cause of a few firings throughout the various franchises under Below Deck's banners. While dating fellow crew members is typical in the various franchises, the majority of those relationships do not go the distance. Now that Below Deck Med's ninth season is underway, new boatmances are on the horizon and they include a love triangle.
Is Bri Muller dating her 'Below Deck Mediterranean' crush?
While it's unclear if Sabrina "Bri" Muller is seeing anyone in her life right now off-camera, we know that in the current season, Bri is one of two women both seeking the affections of deckhand Joe Bradley. Elena "Ellie" Dubaich openly expressed interest in Joe first, while Bri opted to keep her cards close to her chest, at least initially. However, during a night out Ellie saw Bri and Joe flirting intensely. Bri and Ellie are roommates, and naturally Ellie felt slighted by Bri's pursuit of Joe. Bri was well aware of Ellie's crush, but she wanted him, and that's what mattered to her.
How did Elena Dubaich respond to Sabrina Muller's pursuit of Joe Bradley?
It's only natural that Ellie would be upset with Bri. They had previously decided to be each other's wing-women, after all. While Bri may have broken Girl Code, she is not entirely to blame for how this situation is playing out. Joe is enjoying the attention from both women and has done little to shut down either flirtation. While he may not give a hoot about girl code, he should at least take their feelings into consideration. Unfortunately, feelings are easily thrown away when lust is involved.
'Below Deck Med' has not had a great track record when it comes to "boatmances."
Not a single romantic relationship in the previous eight seasons of Below Deck Med has made it. With these kinds of statistics, things are not looking good for the people involved in this love triangle. Previews have already shown that Joe and Bri are about to take things a step further. Ellie, however, has made a warning for Bri. She said, "As a general rule, you never want to go for a guy your supervisor is interested in." Knowing what's to come, Ellie's words may carry more weight in the coming weeks.
