The Cast of 'Buckwild' Have Gone in Different Directions From Legal Troubles to Parenthood
As Shain said on 'Buckwild,' "Wolf Pen, West Virginia: One way in, one way out. Don't know your way around? Stay the f--k out!"

All good things must come to an end. In the cast of MTV's Buckwild, it was only after one season that we lost the affectionately trashy Southern reality television show. That one quick season lasted just over a month, but still left an impact on all reality TV fans out there.
The show followed a group of friends in Charleston, W.Va., where they had to make their own rural fun. It was such a hit that they planned for a Season 2. However, the death of Shain Gandee shut down the show's production for good. Years after Shain's death, the group of friends has gone their separate ways. Let's check in on them.
Shae – "The Spicy Southern Belle"
A glimpse at Shae's life from her Facebook shows that she left Charleston behind for Port Orange, Fla. She has worked as a nurse for years now, starting at CAMC Women and Children's Hospital and moving on to Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt.
Shae appears to be in a happy relationship now with a life that's totally different from her past. After all, she previously fessed up to having a sex tape with Jesse J that went public. She reportedly turned down a $50,000 deal to put the sex tape on a porn website. She told TMZ, “Yes there is a sex tape and I regret making it with someone who I obviously couldn’t trust and is looking to exploit the relationship we had.”
Anna – "The Ringleader"
Anna was arrested in 2013 for a DUI and hosted risque and rowdy events like Whiskey Barrel Bar and Dance Thursday. Now, she lives that influencer lifestyle on Instagram where she has passed the 40,000 follower mark and seems to be living a different type of life.
Much of what Anna posts is more mommy style content, highlighting her kid and partner. Their daughter arrived in 2022, but hit a bit of a rough patch after delivery. Anna wrote on Instagram: "She is a tough little bean who made such a quick turnaround! It was the longest 6 days of our lives, but she is one strong, healthy, beautiful baby."
Joey – "Justin Beaver"
Following the show, Joey also reportedly got up to no good. He was arrested in 2013 when he totaled his car while driving under the influence. He was hit with charges for reckless driving and failure to report an accident.
According to Joey's Facebook, he is currently single which is good news since he won over fans' hearts back when the show was airing. However, it does appear that Joey has a son and an ex that he mysteriously stopped posting about in 2023.
Ashley – "The Tomboy"
Ashley is another cast member who dealt with legal issues not too long after Buckwild ended. She served 30 days in jail after being arrested for a DWI in North Carolina.
Now, Ashley has also moved on to parenthood. She has shared photos of her daughter on her Facebook page where she also confirmed that she's still in Charleston and single.
Cara – "The Firecracker"
Cara hasn't shied away from the public eye, embracing her high social media presence. Plus, she's focused on building companies and using her skill set in marketing to advance her career.
She's also married to Samuel Katz and they share a baby. The pair document their travels and adventures together on social media. It seems like Cara has turned away from the country lifestyle. She left West Virginia and was last known to live in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Tyler – "The Pretty Boy"
Tyler is a bit inconsistent on social media and often goes for years without giving fans any sort of updates. For a while, he seemed to stay in contact with the rest of the cast, but it's hard to say if that's still true.
Tyler was last known to still be living in West Virginia, but he also tagged South Carolina several times on social media which could suggest he moved. He also appears to have gotten into astrology, tagging Gemini in his Instagram bio and sharing frequent horoscopes on Twitter.
Katie – "The College Girl"
Katie graduated from West Virginia University and launched a marketing career. She started by working at Herbalife and now works at Emerald. The reality star ditched her rural upbringing and lives in New York City.
Katie isn't too active on social media which, given her success in a different field, could suggest that she's trying to stay away from the limelight she found herself in from the show.
Salwa – "Bengali in Boots"
Salwa faced a slew of legal issues after the show, many of which revolved around her drug usage including alleged possession of Oxycodone and heroin. Her charges included possession and intent to deliver, which suggest she might have been dealing according to police.
After testing positive in a drug test, Salwa attended rehab before delivering a guilty plea. She was sentenced to five years in prison in 2014, so she should be out of jail by now. However, her social media has been quiet with her last few posts being about a pregnancy.
Shain – "Gandee Candy"
As previously mentioned, Shain died from carbon monoxide which led to the show's cancellation. His friends still remember Shain occasionally with tribute posts but keep their mourning pretty private otherwise.
