There Are Photos of Corey La Barrie's Car Crash Being Passed Around, and That Is So Not Okay

On Sunday night (May 10), YouTuber Corey La Barrie and Ink Master star Daniel Silva got into a car accident after leaving a party. Sadly, Corey didn't make it. Police reports say the two were driving around and crashed into a street sign and a tree. Corey, who had just turned 25 that day, died almost instantly. The YouTube community is incredibly shaken by the news.
Daniel is currently being treated for a broken hip. Although the accident is still being investigated, it looks like Daniel will be charged for murder, since he was drinking and driving. What makes this tragic situation even more terrible, is that there are photos of the car crash going around the internet.
Corey La Barrie's death photos are not OK to share.
Unfortunately, there is some footage of the car crash that's being shared. However, just because it exists, doesn't mean you should look or share the photos. As horrifying as this accident was, it's dehumanizing to the victim to ogle — these aren't scenes from a movie, after all. It's real life. A young man was killed, and unfortunately, it looks like his friend made a bad judgment call when he got in the car and drove them both.
It hasn't been confirmed, but the photos may have been taken by Daniel himself, who allegedly tried fleeing the scene.
If you want to pay your respects and honor Corey's memory, do so in a way that highlights his achievements and character. One fan wrote on Twitter, "corey la barrie was killed in a car crash. a person. a good person. a beautiful person. someone who matters to so many people. someone who brought smiles and light to any room he was in. corey la narrie was so much more than a youtuber and so much more than a headline. rest easy." Some fans have also set their Twitter photos to be blue in honor of Corey.
Corey's mom, Lissa Burton, posted a heartbreaking photo to Instagram, writing, "My heart breaks right now, on my sons 25 birthday today he got into a car with a drunk driver. The accident killed him instantly. No words can describe teh sadness I feel in [losing] a child. It just feels so unreal and I'm overwhelmed with grief. I love you so much Corey and will miss you so so much. It's just so unfair."
Corey's brother Jarrad also posted the same photo, and paired it with this heart-wrenching statement:
"This isn't something i thought i would ever have to sit here and type out for a very long time or what i wanna do right now but everyone deserves to know, my brother Corey passed away last night in a car accident with his drunk friend driving...this is the hardest thing I've ever had to do i dont [know] how I'm supposed to do this without you i miss you so much already this isn't fair thank you for always being the best big brother i could ask for i love you so f***ing much life's never gonna be the same with you R.I.P.
