Has Courtney Waldrop Lost Even More Weight Since Delivering Sextuplets?
Updated Feb. 15 2021, 4:32 p.m. ET
When the world first met Courtney and Eric Waldrop on TLC's Sweet Home Sextuplets, it was when she was pregnant with six babies — and already a mom of three sons, Saylor, and twins, Wales and Bridge, to boot.
Any person who has gestated a child will gladly tell you: Singleton pregnancies can be hard enough on a woman's body. But the process of growing and delivering six entire human beings is on a whole other level entirely. Despite all that Courtney's body went through during her sextuplet pregnancy, she delivered six healthy babies at just under 30 weeks along: Three boys, Blu, Layke, and Tag, and three girls, Rawlings, Rayne, and Rivers.
Now that the sextuplets are 2 — and Season 3 of Sweet Home Sextuplets has kicked off — viewers have taken notice of Courtney's apparent weight loss. Keep reading to learn more.
Courtney Waldrop's weight loss on 'Sweet Home Sextuplets' is pretty clear.
Has Courtney lost weight since viewers saw her 30 weeks pregnant with sextuplets? Well, of course she has. The babies weighed more than 2 pounds apiece, not to mention the weight of the placenta, blood loss, water weight, etc. (A new mom continues to lose weight during the postpartum period, too, mostly through getting rid of excess water.) But it takes time for her uterus to contract back to its pre-pregnancy size, as well as for everything else to generally un-stretch itself.
Pregnancy aside, fans have speculated about Courtney's additional weight loss since the last time viewers saw the Waldrops on Season 2 of Sweet Home Sextuplets. Photos the mom of nine has posted in recent months show a noticeably thinner-faced Courtney. Take a look at a couple of the shots below and compare to the photo above to see for yourself.
Again, duh. Courtney was pregnant with six babies in the first photo and the babies are now 2 years old in the second photos. It's not hard to figure out.
It is, however, difficult to tell the amount of weight loss that Courtney has experienced since the birth of the sextuplets. (And honestly, it's pretty rude/gross to guess what that number might be anyway.) Viewers have still taken notice, though. And they've likely wondered whether it was intentional — and if so, what Courtney did, exactly, to drop the "baby weight."
A thorough scouring of Courtney's Instagram account turned up exactly zero posts pertaining to her body post-sextuplets. Unlike some celebrity mamas who are active on social media, you won't find exercise tips, ads for protein shakes, or anything else body-related on her grid. Nope. For Courtney, Instagram is all about her family, promoting the show, and selling jewelry.
If Courtney does somehow find time in her busy schedule to squeeze in a workout semi-regularly, then she truly is a supermom. Or maybe that's the "secret" to her weight loss all along? The physical exertion (and stress) it takes to keep up with six 2-year-olds seems like it would burn enough calories to easily lose weight — intentionally or not.
It looks like fans will just have to wait and see if Courtney Waldrop addresses her apparent weight loss since delivering the sextuplets — whether it's on the TLC series or via Instagram.
Be sure to tune into Sweet Home Sextuplets at 10 p.m. (ET) on Tuesdays on TLC.
