Dave Portnoy Reveals That He Had Cancer in Bombshell Post
"I’ve got a scar going all the way down my neck. I look like Frankenstein," Dave said.

Dave Portnoy, the founder of Barstool Sports, recently announced that he had been diagnosed with cancer.
The 47-year-old dropped the bombshell during The Dozen Trivia, a trivia challenge presented by Barstool Sports. The founder was wearing a large bandage on the right side of his neck.
“A lot of pressure. This is all that matters. We’ve been waiting for all season,” Dave said while being introduced. Then, he nonchalantly added, “I have cancer, by the way. No big deal.”

After his shocking cancer diagnosis, Dave revealed that he successfully beat the cancer. “I did have cancer. I beat it,” he wrote on X. “It wasn’t the serious kind, thank God.”
In the video, Dave tells Bosco, co-host of Barstool Pick Em and Barstool Bench Mob, that he has cancer. “I didn’t know,” Bosco says.
“Because I don’t make a big show of this,” Dave replies. When Bosco asks how he’s doing, he says, “Good.”
The people around ask Bosco if he feels silly for having his arm in a sling while Dave has cancer.
“Now I do,” he says. "I’ve got a scar going all the way down my neck. I look like Frankenstein." People around keep telling Bosco to take his arm sling off.
"You’ve got that, I’ve got this,” Dave says, referring to Bosco’s arm and his own bandage.
“We’ve all got our cross to bear,” Bosco retorts.
When Bosco asks if Dave will be OK, Portnoy replies, “Yeah, I’m gonna make it.”
According to the New York Post, the kind of cancer Portnoy had was skin cancer. As of now, he hasn’t shared what kind.
Dave reminds people to wear sunscreen.
Dave went more into detail on his cancer diagnosis on his BFF podcast. "It's tough to complain," he said during his June 19 episode.
"I lay in the sun. It was a mole. I'm starting to get on top of myself, so I went to a doctor and did a skin thing. They scraped it, and one of them came back cancerous."
Dave Portnoy also had a heart attack.
This isn’t Dave’s first rodeo with a health scare. During the same BFF podcast episode, the “One Bite Pizza Reviews” host shared that he’s also had a heart attack.
"It's not scary — I mean it is, but it's not," he said, regarding the skin cancer. "I add it to my list. I've had a heart attack, cancer and stung by bees — beat it all."
