When it comes to reality TV personalities Nicole Sherbiny and Mahmoud El Sherbiny, it seems their rocky marriage has reached its end.
Ever since Mahmoud arrived in Los Angeles on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?, the couple has been fighting non-stop; the situation escalates when the pair has a massive argument in front of Nicole's friends, prompting Mahmoud to ask for a divorce.
During the May 19 episode of the 90 Day Fiancé spinoff series, Mahmoud's discontent with his wife and her behavior persists. He even goes as far as claiming that he no longer loves Nicole before accusing her of cheating on him.
Wait, what?! Is there any truth to these allegations? Here's what we know.
So, did '90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?' star Nicole cheat on Mahmoud?
As of now, there's no concrete proof that Nicole cheated on Mahmoud — but her Egyptian husband thinks otherwise. In the May 19 episode of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?, he accuses Nicole of cheating on him after she comes home drunk at 2 in the morning.
When he asks who she was with, Nicole claims she was alone. However, when Mahmoud asks to see her phone, she seemingly freaks out and refuses. Mahmoud sees her reaction as confirmation of her affair.
"He wanted to see my phone," Nicole tells the camera. "I refused to let him, and he said that the fact that I wouldn't open my phone is just proof enough that I'm a cheater. I was like, 'No, you just have to trust that I'm not.' It was ridiculous."
Nicole insists that she doesn't have the time to cheat on Mahmoud and doesn't plan on cheating on him either before telling him she was "at work." However, she later admits to being with her friend Olga, prompting more friction between the couple.
Mahmoud is more convinced than ever that Nicole's panicked reaction implies she's hiding "something" from him. On the other hand, the ex-veterinarian questions if their cultural differences, especially her carefree American lifestyle, are driving a wedge between them.
At this point, Mahmoud is absolutely certain that Nicole doesn't care about him anymore. He bluntly expresses to Nicole that he no longer harbors any romantic feelings for her and once again asks for a divorce. Although Nicole is used to his comments about divorce, this declaration feels "more final" to her.
In the end, Mahmoud interprets Nicole's cold behavior as a sign of her disinterest in their relationship. He sees her choice to drink alcohol, which goes against his religious beliefs, as a clear indication of her desire to end their marriage once and for all.
"It's like a punch in the gut," Nicole says. "We've been through a lot of stuff together, like four years of it, and the one thing that we always did have that we wish we didn't have sometimes was feelings for each other, right? Because it'd be so much easier if we didn't. But then it flipped, and then I was like, 'OK, well then what's the point of anything if you don't?' He doesn't have feelings for me. I'm like heartbroken, but this is it."
She adds, "Mahmoud is simultaneously the best and worst thing that's ever happened to me. So it's going to be incredibly difficult for me to not be with Mahmoud anymore, to move forward. But the one thing that gives me, like, the strength that I need to do it is just knowing that I'll be free again."
