Spoiler alert: This article contains spoilers for Season 1 of Jurassic World: Chaos Theory.
A sequel series to Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous, the new Netflix show Jurassic World: Chaos Theory hit the platform in May 2024. The show, which follows the Nublar 6 as they adjust to life off of the island in a world where humans and dinosaurs have to co-exist, has left some fans with questions following the end of its first season.
One mystery that hung over the show's first season was Brooklynn's fate. The series debuts by revealing that Brooklynn died in an Allosaurus attack, which sets up the overarching conspiracy that drives much of Season 1. Following the season's conclusion, though, many wanted to know whether she had actually died.
Did Brooklynn die in 'Jurassic World: Chaos Theory'?
Although it seems like Brooklynn is dead for much of the show's first season, the end of the season reveals that she is in fact alive. Dudley Cabrera, the villain of the show's first season, was responsible for Brooklynn's apparent death, although he claimed that it was an accident.
Dudley also believes that he is leading up a dinosaur smuggling ring, although we learn in the finale that he is just a figurehead. After Dudley's death in the finale of Season 1, though, Ronnie informs someone that Dudley has died, and gets this message in response: “Good to know, thanks for the heads up.”
We then learn that the person Ronnie was communicating with was Brooklynn, who lost an arm in the attack but is still very much alive.
The series leaves us to speculate about why she went to such lengths to fake her death, and why she hasn't told all of her friends about the fact that she's still alive. What we do see, though, is that Brooklynn is still hard at work investigating the smuggling ring, and even the Nublar 6 could be part of that investigation.
Until Season 2 premieres, fans will be left with these unanswered questions as well as several others.
The Nublar 6 are still exploring the smuggling ring.
Although it seemed like they may have gotten to the bottom of things when they discovered Dudley's role in the smuggling, the gang then discover that "The Broker" is still out there, and he's the one really pulling the strings.
Now that they know that, they've resolved to continue their investigation into the smuggling, and stow away on a smugglers' boat at the end of the season.
If we get a second season, which seems likely, it will probably pick up pretty soon after the events of the show's first season. While there was a pretty sizable time jump between Camp Cretaceous and Chaos Theory, this first season left plenty of plot threads totally unresolved.
Fans have been hooked into the story of the Nublar 6 for several years now, and that doesn't seem likely to change anytime soon. While we don't know when a second season might come, it seems like a safe bet that it will come eventually.
