Arrivederci, Lara! It Was a Short Run for the 'Below Deck Med' Second Stew
Updated June 15 2020, 10:01 p.m. ET
The fifth season may have just begun, but tensions are already running high in Mallorca on Below Deck Med. Italian stew Lara Flumiani is getting on Hannah Ferrier's last nerve and we love to see it!
But considering how much the interior has been butting heads over the last charter, who even knows how long this dynamic will last before someone breaks and throws in the towel. Is Lara getting fired on the season? It turns out she left before she got the chance to get the boot.
Does Lara get fired on 'Below Deck Med'?
Lara certainly started off on the wrong foot when it came to entering Hannah's team, though she initially appeared to be quite good at her job (the white gloves she uses to set every table can stay!). Hannah was initially peeved because Lara had stated she had previously been a chief stew, but the second stew proved worthy of Hannah's wrath when she stopped respecting rank and repeatedly disobeyed her boss's orders.
And as the first yacht charter came to a close, the two were having definitive communication issues. To try and be as fair as possible, Hannah kept changing Lara's tasks and schedule, but for her part, the Italian stew did not react the way one reacts to a superior.
"The more you piss me off the less I will do," is one of the retorts Lara offers. "We collaborate, otherwise it doesn't work," she says at another point.
Tensions rise as Hannah decides to finally take their interpersonal struggles to big boss Captain Sandy, who encourages the chief stew to be a leader and figure out how to work together with her team.
But everything changes suddenly after the crew's outing when Lara seemingly runs off the boat, eventually paging Captain Sandy an hour before the charter arrives to say she's quitting—effective immediately. Arrivederci Lara, it was fun while it lasted!

Word has leaked via Page Six that Hannah is set to get fired later this season, and that that's what the teasers show what Captain Sandy will build up to. Days prior to the leak, Hannah tried to get her piece in ahead of the tabloids, saying that she was quitting the show to Entertainment Tonight. "I don't want to get to the stage where I'm locked into yachting and there's nothing else in my life except that," she told the outlet.
According to Page Six, we'll see her stripped from her chief stew duties during the course of the Bravo season.
"Insiders are surprised that Ferrier's even claiming that she's quitting," Page Six writes, quoting an insider who said she's "crossed the line before" and "eventually went too far."
Considering her track record on the series, this comes as little to no surprise.
Watch it all go down (not the ship, though!) on Bravo, Mondays at 9 p.m. ET.
