Father of Barstool Sports Dave Portnoy has had a few public relationships. His past girlfriends include Jordyn Hamilton and Silvana Mojica. However, his most known relationship was that which led to wedding bells.

Dave and Renee Portnoy were engaged in 2008 and married only a year later. However, for a while, they were thought to be divorced after a 2017 split. The question is ... are they truly?

While Dave's active relationship status is foggy — with some reports from The US Sun indicating he's linked with Camryn D'Aloia — his legal status might say differently.

The CEO recently revealed that he and Renee are still legally married and even have a joint bank account. In fact, according to documents obtained by the Daily Mail, their account is "entirely and exclusively funded by [Dave] for the payment of all expenses of [Renee] without limitation."

Dave admitted that he doesn't mind the situation one bit. After all, he still refers to her as his "best friend," emphasizing on the Call Her Daddy podcast in May 2024 that the pair have "a great relationship."

According to Dave, finalizing the separation wasn't easy because of his financial status. He's estimated to have a net worth of $150 million, so their divorce plan raised the judge's eyebrows.

“The judge looked at [the petition] and said, ‘Nope he has too much money’ and wouldn't accept it,'" he explained on the podcast. Despite both Dave and Renee agreeing on the situation, the judge ended up denying their proposal, calling it "unacceptable."

“They [told Renee] ‘he's trying to screw you’ — but I wasn’t,” Dave said. “We both want the best for each other … I was trying to buy a house in Nantucket … [but] I couldn't get the house … if I gave her half of everything I have.”

Dave and Renee's break up came as a shock considering she was so a part of his life that she even had an impact on Barstool Sports itself. She helped manage the behind-the-scenes tasks of the operation.

So, what could have caused his major split? According to The US Sun, Dave was accused of infidelity in their marriage. The timing made everything more suspicious with the marriage ending in 2017 and Dave going public with Jordyn Hamilton the same year.

Dave was seen at a basketball game in April 2024 with Camryn D'Aloia, which he said on an episode of the BFFs Podcast caused him to panic a bit. After all, the public visibility meant speculation was soon to follow.

"I'm sensitive still to the fact I'm six months, five-and-a-half months out of a relationship," he said during a May 24 episode, seemingly referring to his prior relationship with Sylvana Mojica.

"So being seen on a date or with a [new] girl, it was not what I was trying to do," he went on.

He also clarified at the time that he and Camryn weren't super official, yet. "If you know how I enjoy Celtics games, generally [sitting] center court, on the wood, loud, proud. I'm friends with this girl, we've hung out ... it's not boyfriend-girlfriend, obviously," Dave said. "She's from Boston, so [she's] a Celtics fan."
