Is ‘Fall Guys’ coming to mobile?

In the years since its release, Fall Guys has been ported to several different platforms. The game first came out on PC and PlayStation 4 on Aug. 4, 2020. Two years later when the game went free to play, the game came to PS5 and Nintendo Switch, as well as Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.

After all this time, several seasons of gameplay, and a completely restructured business model for the game, is it ever coming out for mobile platforms?

For all intents and purposes, yes. Back when the game first came out, The Verge reported that Fall Guys developer Mediatonic was in talks over releasing a mobile version of the game. However, Mediatonic isn't working on it themselves. At the time, Chinese entertainment company Bilibili secured the rights for a Fall Guys mobile game. What's more, this version of the game will only be published in China.

As for whether a mobile version of Fall Guys will exist for players who don’t live in China, we still don't know. As of July 2022, there's been no word from BiliBili on a release date for the game, so it's not even out in China yet. Even as Fall Guys experiences a major resurgence in popularity on other platforms, there's been no indication on whether or not a mobile version is being worked on in any part of the world.

At this point, you may have to settle for "Fall Guys at home."

Enter 'Stumble Guys,' the Ultimate Knockoff!

In the absence of a legitimate mobile version of Fall Guys, a shameless copy has been picking up steam. Stumble Guys is an online battle royale knockout game where 32 players compete in zany minigames until one winner emerges. The game was first released on Android and iOS back in 2021.

No matter how you look at it, it's a Fall Guys clone trying to cash in on the original game's popularity. For what it's worth, this copy/paste strategy seems to be paying off.

According to mobilegamer.biz, Stumble Guys has topped mobile gaming charts around the world, raking in over $21 million in microtransactions. This is either a testament to the people's desire for a mobile Fall Guys flocking to the next best thing or a sign that Stumble Guys is just a legitimately enjoyable game on its own, but we couldn't say for sure.

One thing is certain, though. Mediatonic is certainly missing out on an audience who craves Fall Guys on mobile.
