'Perfect Match' Star Izzy Zapata Was Dating His Girlfriend, Shelby Webb, During Season 2

Season 2 of Perfect Match ended on Friday, June 21, 2024. The Netflix dating show ended with a bang, as (SPOILER) Christine Obanor and Nigel Jones won the competition, resulting in an all-expenses-paid vacation. They also connected on the show before their win, which is supposed to be more important.

Although he didn't win the competition, many Perfect Match fans were happy to see Izzy Zapata back on their screens. Izzy first became a part of the Netflix zeitgeist during Season 5 of Love Is Blind.

After ending his engagement with his LIB fiance, Stacy Snyder he came on the competition hoping to find love again with a fellow reality TV alum.

We now know Izzy wasn't the Season 2 champ and didn't find the woman of his dreams on the show. However, he seemingly didn't mind the loss, as he's since confirmed he didn't need a few days in Tulum to find his Perfect Match after all. Eagle-eyed fans wonder if he was ever single or was putting beach sand in his shorts.

As Perfect Match's popularity grew in Season 2, so did its stars. While many of the stars from the season, including Izzy, had decent followings before they joined the season, the show attracted more followers who became invested in their lives outside of the show.

For Izzy, fans wanted him to find a "honey" after failing to go the distance with fellow Love Is Blind stars Micah Lussier and Jessica Vestal. In a June 2024 post, he sent fans into a frenzy when he flaunted his honey, a blonde-haired woman wearing a black monochrome outfit.

"Found my honey," Izzy simply wrote in his caption.

Several fans inquired about the woman in the Netflix stud's comments. Many wondered how they met and fully supported the relationship so long as he was happy. However, those who already followed Izzy's story on Love Is Blind and online had seen and heard of his girlfriend before. In October 2023, he hard-launched his girlfriend, surgical assistant Shelby Webb, on his Instagram account.

Izzy captioned the post of him and Shelby, "It all started with a cooking class..." referencing their first date. It was the second reference to the cooking class, as he shared at the Season 5 Love Is Blind reunion that his ex, Stacy, had also attended the cooking class, causing them to have an awkward double date.

Izzy and Shelby have been going strong since he confirmed their romance online. The couple were also together as Izzy flirted with other women on TV for millions to see. While many people wouldn't be as understanding as Shelby, she likely felt comfortable with him being on the show after they put their love in writing — via their skin!

In October 2023, Izzy shared that the couple had reached the matching tattoo part of their relationship. He posted their tatts, which read "yes, chef," a nod to their first date. Izzy and Shelby's gesture was so cute that even Stacy approved!

Now, before you start fixing your thumbs to call Izzy the next Trevor from Love Is Blind Season 6, know that Izzy seemingly wasn't in a relationship when he joined Perfect Match Season 2.

The season began filming in August 2023, several months before he confirmed he was dating Shelby. While they could've been in the "talking stage" at that time, it seems like Izzy was on the up and up until after his time on the show ended.
