‘RHOP’ Newbie Jassi Rideaux Is Already on Gizelle Bryant’s Bad Side — Let’s Meet Her!

Before The Real Housewives of Potomac wrapped its eighth season on Bravo, fans were already fixated on the Season 9 cast. In Spring 2024, two longtime stars, Robyn Dixon and Candiace Dillard Bassett, announced they wouldn’t return for another season. Soon after, Nneka Ihim told People she left the show after one season to “focus on my family.”

With Candiace, Robyn, and Nneka out, there was room for a few new faces to come into the fold.

We already shared that Stacey Rusch, a former QVC host, joined the cast as a full-time housewife. It’s been reported that Mia Thornton’s friend, Jasmine “Jassi” Rideaux, will be another Season 9 newbie. However, rumors have surfaced that Mia’s pal isn’t as chummy with one of the show’s OGs, Gizelle Bryant.

Here’s what to know about Jassi and why she was kicked out of Gizelle’s event during filming.

We can’t tell if Jassi will be joining RHOP as a “friend of” or in a full-time capacity. If she comes in as a friend, she will be alongside Keairna Stewart and Jacqueline Blake, who were both asked to return.

What we do know is that Jassi will bring luxury to the show. According to her Instagram bio, the Oklahoma native and former pageant queen owns several businesses, including an “authentic raw hair” line called Rideaux Hair, her real estate business, Rideaux Properties, and another business called Chateau Rideaux.

Based on the business’s Instagram page, it is unclear what Jassi, a licensed cosmetologist, uses the Chateau for. However, in an August 2020 cover story with Where It Begins, Jassi said the business name was dedicated to her grandmother: "A self-made millionaire painted the name on our family home.”

Jassi’s entrepreneurial mindset is something many of her new RHOP co-stars can resonate with. Unfortunately, her commonality with one of the Bravo hit’s stars didn’t work in her favor.

On Friday, May 10, 2024, the Potomac ladies gathered to film two events hosted by Gizelle and Karen Huger, known rivals.

According to TV Deets, Karen accepted an award at a separate event on the same day as Gizelle and Ashley Darby’s charity event for their clothing line, GnA, to raise money for the National Brain Tumor Society. The event was reportedly a tribute to Gizelle’s father, Curtis Graves, who died in July 2023.

Sources told TV Deets that Gizelle felt attacked by her co-stars after many of them opted to go to Karen’s award ceremony before her and Ashley’s event. Jassi, Stacey, and Mia were reportedly some of the stars who opted to support Karen first, which reportedly didn’t sit right with Gizelle.

The lone green-eyed bandit reportedly reacted by kicking her three co-stars out shortly after they arrived at her event. The action came after TV Deets shared that Gizelle has been the subject of discussions among the group for not getting along with her new co-stars amid her BFF Robyn's firing.

While her relationship with Gizelle is reportedly a doozy in RHOP Season 9, Jassi appears to have a soft place to land at home. Jassi’s rumored boyfriend, Darius Harris, is a football player and plays for the Kansas City Chiefs. Although the couple doesn’t acknowledge one another on their Instagram feeds, Jassi has shared a few moments with her and Darius on Instagram Stories.

Jassi also sneakily showed her support for her man on her Instagram timeline. On February 12, 2024, she posted several photos of her enjoying the Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas, Nev. Darius wasn’t in any of the snaps.

Still, Jassi hinted at them possibly taking things to the next level with her caption.

“Big as the What???!💍💍💍,” she wrote.

Despite the ring emojis, Jassi hasn’t confirmed she’s engaged. However, we will likely learn more about her love life in her RHOP debut!
