Here's How You Can Watch 'Love Actually' During the Most Wonderful Time of the Year
Updated Nov. 21 2019, 1:32 p.m. ET
Somehow, it isn't even Thanksgiving yet, and I'm already thinking about what Christmas movies I'm going to watch this year. From Elf to Four Christmases, there are too many classic options and not enough days in the holiday season.
But it basically goes without saying that my all-time favorite holiday flick is Love Actually, and if you, too, love the 2003 rom-com, you'll be happy to know there's going to be a live production coming our way.
So, where will I be able to catch Love Actually Live during the most wonderful time of the year? Stay tuned to hear everything we know about the live revival at this moment in time.
What does a "live version" of Love Actually entail?
From what we understand, the live version of Love Actually is a multimedia concert and musical, according to Travel & Leisure. Basically, while clips from the original movie play in the background, there will be real people singing and dancing on a full set, with a full-blown orchestra playing in the background.
Run-time is two hours and 30 minutes, and it includes a 15-minute intermission.
If you haven't already seen the film in its entirety, however, I strongly suggest sitting down and watching it before you go — the entire storyline may not be fully conveyed through this half-live-half-movie mashup, so you may need a basic understanding of the movie before watching the live version.
Where can we watch it?
Unfortunately, unlike Rent: Live or Little Mermaid: Live, Love Actually Live is not a televised production. If you're interested in seeing it, though, it's playing at The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills, Calif. starting on Nov. 27, 2019, the night before Thanksgiving.
The production runs through Christmas until Dec. 29, and you can buy your tickets on the Wallis' website or at the Wallis' box office in-person. Regardless of what you decide to do, though, make sure to buy your tickets ahead of time — this is bound to be a popular event (and tickets are bound to be popular holiday presents!) this year.
Who will be performing in the live part of Love Actually Live?
The stage cast is set to include an incredibly wide variety of talent — some of the actors have starred in popular Broadway shows such as: Mama Mia!, Wicked, Les Mis, and Once.
Carrie Manolakos, Doug Kreeger, and Tomasina Abate will be playing the roles of Natalie, Harry, and Karen.
There was a Love Actually Live last year, as well.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the Wallis staged a Love Actually Live last year too, in December 2018, and many of the same actors are returning for this year's production.
So needless to say, these guys know what they're doing by now... aka that highly anticipated re-enactment of Hugh Grant's "Jump!" number is bound to be perfected at this point.
Whether you're a huge fan of the flick or if you're simply seeking out a seasonal activity to do with your boo this holiday season, you definitely shouldn't sleep on buying tickets for Love Actually Live.
Just make sure to bring tissues — it's definitely going to be a tear-jerker.
