Pop-rock fans likely know musician Matty Healy as the lead singer of The 1975. When the band first was getting off the ground, they performed punk song covers in local bars and clubs in order to get comfortable on stage. Eventually, they started writing their own lyrics and performing their own original songs.

Now, The 1975 has more than 3.7 million followers on Instagram, and Matty is considered a talented artist to keep up with. As far as Matty has publicly shared, he is currently single.

However in May 2023, speculation began that Matty was dating Taylor Swift following her split from Joe Alwyn. “She and Matty are madly in love. It’s super-early days, but it feels right," a source close to Taylor reportedly told The U.S. Sun. "They first dated, very briefly, almost 10 years ago but timings just didn’t work out."

The source reportedly told the publication there was no crossover between Matty and Joe, noting that Taylor and Joe broke up in February.

Currently, Taylor is in the middle of her Eras tour and The 1975 is on the road for its At Their Very Best tour. But there has been "a lot of Face-Timing and texting," the anonymous source told The U.S. Sun.

The source added, “They are both massively proud and excited about this relationship and, unlike Taylor’s last one — which was very much kept out of the spotlight, deliberately — she wants to ‘own’ this romance, and not hide it away."

Reportedly, Matty will be flying to Nashville to "support her on the next leg of her tour."

Matty and Taylor were previously romantically linked in 2014, when she attended a The 1975 concert, although Matty has since publicly denied they dated.

Matty's last known relationship was with none other than FKA Twigs. FKA has been very open and honest about the toxic relationship she shared with Shia LaBeouf prior to dating Matty. She's an actor who's also known for her talent as a dancer and singer, which means she shared a passion for music in common with Matty following her relationship with Shia.

Before that, Matty was romantically linked to model Gabriella Brooks from 2015 to 2019. They reportedly dated from 2015 until 2019. She reportedly decided to call it quits because she was tired of his partying lifestyle, according to The U.S. Sun.

According to The Tab, Matty also was rumored to have a brief relationship with Halsey in 2015. She showed up to one of his concerts while he was on stage with the rest of The 1975 band, but he and Halsey both never confirmed the rumors.

Rewinding all the way back to 2014, Matty was said to be secretly dating Aliana Lohan on the low. These rumors about him with Lindsey Lohan's sister certainly made their rounds, but once again, nothing was ever confirmed.

Matty has also been romantically linked to Gemma James.

Out reports that Matty shared a passionate kiss with a male fan on stage during the band's At Their Very Best tour. What makes this story even more interesting is that this isn’t the first time Matty has kissed a male fan in front of a crowd.

Back in 2019, he planted one on a male fan during a concert in Dubai as well. Despite the fact that Matty has been comfortable kissing guys in public, he insists that he isn’t gay because he isn’t into having full-on intercourse with men.
