Mindy Kaling Surprises Fans With Yet Another Unexpected Birth Announcement

Some celebrities choose to proudly share every detail of their life with the public eye, while others prefer to keep things a little more private, especially in regards to their family. For example, famous parents Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling choose to refrain from sharing photos of their children's faces on social media, and plenty of fans of rising star Barry Keoghan had no idea he was a father.

One such celebrity is Mindy Kaling, who is an expert at controlling the public's perception of her and keeping major life events to herself. Mindy has already surprised fans several times with unexpected birth announcements — and in June 2024, she shared with Instagram the birth of her third child.

Here's what we know about Mindy's third secret baby.

In a June 2024 Instagram post, Mindy shocked fans by sharing the news of her newest child, Anne.

"In late February I gave birth to my daughter, Anne. She’s the best birthday present I could’ve ever imagined," the post read. "When things are hard, whenever I veer towards cynicism, my three kids are such a great reminder of the pure joy in my life. I’m so lucky I live in a place where I could do this by myself, on my own timeline."

The births of her other two children, Katherine and Spencer, also came as a shock to fans, with no prior indication or announcement of pregnancy.

While the father of Mindy's "secret baby" Anne is currently a mystery, fans definitely have some theories — No. 1 being that the baby belongs to Mindy's on-again-off-again partner and co-star, BJ Novak.

"Me trying to see if the kids look like BJ Novak," one commenter posted, followed by the eyeballs emoji.

"Congrats! And by “by myself” you mean with B.J., right?" another asked in response to Mindy's post.

While we may never know for sure who Anne's father is, it's safe to say that the internet is rooting for BJ.
