After a video of a bride and her mom at a wedding made the rounds online, many folks on social media are calling out the mother-of-the-bride for her choice of dress.

She poses in pictures with the young woman, walks down the aisle with her, and generally looks fabulous in her light green and pink flowered gown with a massive bow levitating behind her.

In fact, her gown appears to be a spin on her own daughter's bridal gown — and it's perhaps this similarity, coupled with the online video glorifying her aesthetic on Instagram, that has gotten several people wondering if the mother-of-the-bride was trying to be the center of attention.

Granted there were several people who responded in the comments section of the video who thought the commenters were being unduly mean, writing that they should be a bit kinder as the person they were talking about was the bride's mother, after all. Others mentioned that they didn't particularly think she was attempting to be the center of attention, and that the video was simply highlighting touching moments between a mother and daughter on a beautiful wedding day.

But then, there were others who seemed pretty much convinced that the mother-of-the-bride was attempting to steal her own kid's thunder on the day of her wedding: "Why does MOB want to be the center of attention???" one person penned.

"Why upstage your daughter????? Shocking," another wrote.

"She's trying to upstage her daughter," someone else said.

However, there were some people who said they've encountered their fair share of brides-to-be who loved the idea of their moms looking all glammed up: "I LOVE when the MOB goes all out and looks fabulous!!! ALL of my bridal clients want that for their mom!!!"

Another user wrote: "There’s no way ANYONE can outshine a bride. She’s THE BRIDE. Moms deserve to look fabulous as well. Mom looks amazing."

While another person commented: "I am in love. A mom showing up as her best version of herself. Such an amazing gown. All moms should be their most beautiful on their daughter's wedding day."

It seems that the mom penned her own comments in the replies to the video, writing: "Thank you Chloe for capturing this special day & thank you Flora for making the perfect dress! My daughter and I had so much fun in the process & we both couldn’t be happier with the finished look!"

What did you think about the video? Is this just a classic case of a bunch of mean-spirited folks on the internet who saw a beautiful mother and daughter enjoying their very special day conjure up some type of familial rivalry storyline in their head so they could feel better about their own miserable lives by attempting to lower the bar for everyone else?

Or do you think that this is an actual case of a mom trying to upstage her daughter on her own wedding day?
