Mom Says Solo Night in a Hotel Room Basically Brought Her Back to Life

A nurse, wife, and mom shared a pro tip with TikTok about how she recharged her soul following a string of sleepless nights with her three young children.
The creator, @lindsey_thk, says all moms should try her trick and it's so simple. All you have to do is leave for the night and do all of your favorite things in a hotel room. Alone.
According to Lindsey, this one night may save your sanity, your marriage, and more.
A mom spent a night solo in a hotel room to recharge.
As Lindsey explains in her TikTok, a few years ago her kids weren't sleeping at night. Between her baby dealing with sleep regression issues and her older kiddos battling nightmares, she was up on and off all night, every night.
Soon, the mom was close to losing her mind. Lindsey explains that she wasn't a good wife, mom, or nurse. Beyond the physical exhaustion and feeling "bone tired," emotionally and mentally, this mom was on her last bar of energy.
Lindsey's husband pretended to get just how exhausted she was, when the reality according to her looked more like him getting up for 30 seconds, then rolling over and snoring.
That was the last straw.
Upon confirming his work schedule, Lindsey promptly booked a hotel room for herself and left her husband with the kids for a night.
She enjoyed time to herself at the gym, an uninterrupted shower, and her favorite dinner. Then, this mama snoozed soundly for a blissful 11 hours.
One night in the hotel alone recharged this mom's batteries for weeks to come — and gave her husband a dose of reality.
Not only did Lindsey come home with renewed energy that allowed her to conquer more sleepless nights ahead, but her husband had something to say to her: "I'm sorry."
The night alone with the stirring children made him realize how much she was dealing with night after night. According to Lindsey, he wasn't so useless moving forward when the kids woke up and needed attention.
Not every mom can get away for a night of peace and quiet.
I'm going to speak for the moms who wouldn't do something like this for a variety of reasons.
Some can't afford to go to a hotel for a night. Others, like myself, are far too controlling to leave the kids for a night.
I'm just being honest that I would rather just complain and resent my husband for not helping than actually go to a hotel and not know what was going on at home.
It seems some commenters on Lindsey's TikTok can relate. However, most of the moms who shared their thoughts felt either envious of the solo night at the hotel or aspired to steal the idea.
"I'm not there yet," admitted one mom. "I'm scared to leave," someone else confided.
For me, taking some time to do yoga or going to get a manicure is as much "me" time as I've allowed myself thus far. Maybe one day I'll feel like getting away for an entire night.
For now, since the night would cause more anxiety than enjoyment, I'll just say: Good for the moms for whom this works. We all need to do what we can to keep our sanity!
