As it turned out, her experience in the fashion industry proved to be helpful with her future endeavors.
As she later reflected to the Miami Herald about her job in the garment center for Unionbay after college:
"It actually was the best selling tool for matchmaking because you would have to get a buyer to come to your office and compete with some of the biggest companies in the industry and really believe in the value of your product and sell it in a very short period of time for a lot of money. Learning to get people together, not having fear of phones, talking to anyone on the street – good matchmakers are like that."
Patti published her first book Become Your Own Matchmaker: 8 Easy Steps for Attracting Your Perfect Mate in 2009. That same year, she began hosting the radio show P.S. I Love You, which still airs on Clear Channel. After The Millionaire Matchmaker ended its run on Bravo, she went on to host and produce Million Dollar Matchmaker on WE from 2016 to 2017.
She also went on to produce a string of Hallmark flicks known as the Matchmaker Mysteries, of which there are currently three: A Killer Engagement (2019), A Fatal Romance (2020), and The Art of the Kill (2021). They all star Wonder Years alum Danica McKellar.
In April 2024, Patti returned to television matchmaking with The Matchmaker, which she stars in alongside Bachelor alum Nick Viall. The CW series aims to help all kinds of folks find love — not just the millionaires.
“They’re not just millionaires or celebrities, they’re normies, they’re civilians," Patti shared on Nick's Viall Files podcast (via Yahoo News). "It’s a deep dive into problems like breadcrumbing, ghosting, situationships. You want your questions answered? It’s gonna get answered in the show."
