Rachael Ray Adopted Her New Puppy, Bella Boo, Only Two Months Before Her House Fire

Food Network icon and known dog enthusiast Rachael Ray was absolutely devastated when her last pup, Isaboo, passed away at the end of May. After only a few weeks, she and her hubby, John Cusimano, were eager to adopt a new fur baby. In the middle of June, they brought home Bella Boo, who has been their predominant focus during the coronavirus quarantine.
When we heard Rachael and John's upstate New York house burned down on Sunday, Aug. 9, according to New York Post, we were relieved to hear each of them — including Bella — were doing OK. Needless to say, Rachael Ray's new puppy, Bella, is coming as a total blessing during these undeniably tough times.
Rachael Ray's new puppy will quite literally make your heart melt.
Rachael is generally outspoken about the #AdoptDontShop movement. A few years ago, she launched Rachael’s Rescue, which has donated millions of dollars to pet charities, earlier this year, she also donated pet food to KC's Pet Project, and she's maintained the title of Animal League celebrity ambassador for years now. That being said, we were unsurprised when we heard the celebrity chef opted to adopt — instead of shop — for Bella.
"We will open our home and our hearts to another animal in need, because that is what Izzy would want," Rachael said in a heartfelt tribute after her late pit-bull, Isaboo, passed away in May. A few weeks later, they brought home Bella Boo Blue, whom she introduced to fans in a much cheerier Instagram post on June 15.
"Happy Adoption Day to Bella Boo Blue who we welcome to our family today. She loves how we roll! (...in the outdoor carpeting) Look at those baby BLUES" Rachael wrote, tagging Animal League, which is where they presumably adopted her.
According to Rachael Ray Show, John and Rachael celebrated with an Adoption Night dinner the evening they brought Bella home, which included an Indian-style feast for the humans, and minced chicken, naan, and a spoonful of yogurt for Bella.
Rachael and John seem really, really happy with Bella.
While staying at home during the coronavirus quarantine is certainly anxiety-inducing for many, Rachael and John have clearly been preoccupied with their adorable blue-eyed pup. From watching Bella keep busy playing with ice cubes, to witnessing her heart-melting puppy naps, spending time with a playful, blissfully unaware pup has definitely kept them sane.
And although it was definitely difficult for Rachael and John when their Warren County, N.Y. house burned down, we're sure Bella is helping them stay grounded. As previously mentioned, the trio made it out of their house safely.
“Rachael, her husband and their dog Bella are safe,” said Rachael's representative, Charlie Dougiello. While the damage is unknown, we're glad they all made it out together.
Rachael, John, and Bella are certainly a glorious trio. Between Isaboo's passing, the ongoing pandemic, and their house burning down, Bella has definitely brought tremendous joy to Rachael and John.
