White Woman Launches Racist Tirade at Asian Woman Exercising in the Park

Yet another viral video showing an angry, racist white woman screaming offensive language at a person of color has gone viral. This one is from Torrance, California, whose population is, according to Census.gov, 36.6 percent Asian.

In the video, a young Asian woman exercises on some steps in a park when the white woman walks by twice. The second time, it's clear that she was trying to get in the way of the Asian woman, who then, understandably frustrated, says, "Jesus." That's when the white woman loses it. 

She launches into an expletive-laden, racist tirade ostensibly about how the exercising woman was taking up the whole stairway. (She wasn't.) She screams, "Get the f--k out of this world! Get the f--k out of this state! Go back to whatever f--king Asian country you belong in."

"OK racist," she calmly replies. 

"You little f--king bitch," the racist woman continues. "This is not your place. This is not your home. We do not want you here."

A friend of the exercising woman @mynamegangg posted the video to Twitter, where it went completely viral. "My coworker / friend encountered an evil racist at the park during her workout in Torrance today," she wrote.

ABC 7 reports that the incident was reported to Torrance city officials and they are now investigating the incident. "Public safety is a high priority in the City of Torrance," said the city's mayor, Patrick Furey.

"And all visitors to our open spaces should always feel safe and free to exercise while practicing social distancing without conflict. Conduct like that displayed on the video cannot be tolerated."

But that's not where this story ends. Another Twitter user, @kayceelyn_a, tweeted after seeing the video that she recognized the racist woman because it is the same woman who attacked her in a bathroom in a mall. She filed a police report at the time, but nothing came of it.

In a follow-up tweet, Kayceelyn provides several pictures of the woman, and while it's not confirmed that it's the same woman, it is possible. Now that she has been caught on video and her behavior has gone viral, the police have actually decided to investigate.

Since the video of this woman accosting an exerciser in the park was posted on social media, it has been viewed millions of times and has garnered plenty of reactions.

 "I grew up in the South Bay, lived there for over 40 years," one person wrote. "Unfortunately, I'm not surprised. There are race-obsessed fools in every neighborhood. But, many of the people in my high school class are still spewing out political and racial hostility. Seems to be what they live for." 

"I'm glad we're seeing these videos because us #WhitePeople (who don't do this s--t) are having our eyes OPENED to what you have to deal with daily. I'm so sorry," another commenter wrote.

Put bluntly, as another person wrote, "Descendants of colonizers need to stop telling people who aren't white they don't belong in this country."
