Since music lovers first heard her make our hips roll on her 2005 debut single "Pon De Replay," Miss Robyn Rihanna Fenty has proven time and time again how powerful her creative and entrepreneurial mind is. Over the years, RiRi amassed a fortune from her formerly consistent singing career and her beauty and clothing empires, Fenty Beauty, Fenty Skin, Savage X Fenty, and her luxury line she simply named, you guessed it, Fenty. Sis is unstoppable.
On June 4, 2024, the beauty mogul shared on her website and social media channels that she would be dominating the hair industry next with her hair collection, Fenty Hair. The line planned to give consumers the "hair experience you’ve been waiting for." She also shared that she wants the line to be "flexible" for most hair types.
Amid fans cheering Rihanna's latest power move, some had harsh, yet hilarious thoughts about her venture into the hair industry. Here's our list of some of the top Fenty Hair memes!
Rihanna's hair selection for her Fenty Hair advertisement will never know peace.
Rihanna is known for iconic hairstyles. Admit it; you remember exactly where you were for her Good Girl Gone Bad era when she rocked that sleek bob in her and Jay-Z's "Umbrella" video. Ri went on to create even more moments, including her faux locs and, my personal favorite, her red, Loud moment.
It was only right that, while promoting Fenty Hair, Rihanna shook up the internet with another hairstyle. In the ad, she rocked a platinum blonde pixie cut wig as she strutted outside in a trench coat.
Rihanna's hairstyle choice was only some people's cup of tea. Following the release of the Fenty Hair advertisement, several fans felt she should've gone with something less, well, NeNe Leakes-esque. Despite the NeNe comparisons and wig insults, we know Rihanna will be laughing to the bank!
"Now how did I get in it?"
Do we have another NeNe reference for you? Well, yes, yes we do! In between side-by-side comparisons of her and Rihanna, one of Ms. Leakes' iconic moments resurfaced during the Fenty Hair discourse. In one meme, @stoppfeenin wrote, "my fren when my Rihanna's hair comes unraveled," under a clip of Marlo Hampton helping NeNe adjust her bun during NeNe's fight with Porsha Williams in a Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 10 episode. While Rihanna only sells hair products and not actual hair, this meme made us snicker!
A Fenty Hair ad/Carol Brady comparison was inevitable.
We didn't want to laugh at this one (OK, that might not be entirely true), but it was hard to resist! We'd be lying if we said The Brady Bunch's Carol Brady, played by the late great Florence Henderson, didn't pop into our minds when we saw Ri's shaggy look.
Rihanna, ma'am, you still owe us an album!
As Kanye West once said, "I'ma let you finish" with the Fenty Beauty celebrations. But, as one of her X, formerly Twitter fans mentioned, we still remember her mysterious, possibly non-existent album, R9.
Since Rihanna released her 2016 project, Anti, she hasn't released an official album, though she has lent her voice to several features and her 2022 single, "Lift Me Up." So, naturally, fans had to remind her that the album is still something we want, though we've accepted that it will come when she's ready!
Justice for Kenya Moore Hair Care!
Much like anything Black female creatives do, Rihanna's Fenty Hair announcement was met with comparisons of her products to those of other celebrity hair care brands. She instantly received comparisons to her fellow pop queen, Beyonce, who released her hair care line, Cecred, in March 2024.
As their fans engaged in the fictional battle between the artists, one X user said Kenya Moore is the true OG of the celebrity hair care world. To the fan, the Real Housewives of Atlanta icon's haircare line, Kenya Moore HairCare, is the only line anyone should discuss!
