Meet Sammie, 'The Circle's First Influencer
Updated April 15 2021, 4:04 p.m. ET
The year is 2020 and we officially live in an episode of Black Mirror, as evidenced by Netflix's latest social experiment reality show: The Circle.
The Circle is Britain's latest import, and after two successful seasons in the U.K., it's finally made its way stateside. The competition series follows eight contestants living alone, who communicate — as a group and one on one — solely through a voice-controlled social media platform called The Circle.
The eight contestants are playing for $100,000 and the chance at becoming the game's most popular user. As the show puts it, "You can be whoever it takes to win." There are so many twists and turns in store, we guarantee you won't be able to look away.
The players are allowed to catfish each other, which gets in the way of alliances they can be forming, and are working not to be "blocked," or eliminated, from the game.
Since the series is being released week by week on the streaming platform, we have time to get to know and love our beloved contestants.
Keep reading for everything you need to know about Sammie, The Circle's first verified influencer, who off the bat was voted No. 1 by the group.
Who is Sammie from The Circle?
24-year-old Sammie hails from Miami, and is quickly voted No. 1 hottest in the group, which means she's automatically (albeit briefly) named an influencer, along with Antonio. As their title suggests, influencers get to influence the game a bit, and the first thing Sammie and Antonio are tasked with is blocking one of the initial eight players.
Off the show, Sammie works as a behavior technician, where she works with children on the autism spectrum. She's also bisexual, which proves to be interesting when it comes to flirting and forging relationships with the other players.
"My favorite emoji is probably the purple devil," she says upon introduction. "When I'm posting on social media, I post a lot of pictures of my ass," she adds.
Follow Sammie on Instagram.
On Instagram, Sammie keeps a very clean and curated page and the brunette beauty has already amassed nearly 14k followers.
While she's technically in an "on-and-off" relationship and is more taken than single, there aren't any pictures of her significant other on social media, from what we can see.
So far, Sammie has performed really well in the game and we can't wait to see what the rest of the season holds for her and the other contestants.
Now that she and Antonio have technically been "dethroned," as they've lost their blue checkmarks, we can't wait to see who else gets to rise the ranks of The Circle and influence the game.
New episodes of The Circle will arrive to Netflix on Jan. 8 and Jan. 15, and this show is definitely the trippiest and best reality series to kick off the decade.
Don't miss the chance to stream the three available episodes on Netflix and follow the contestants on social media ahead of the rest of the season.
