Alliya and Shawn Drop Open Relationship Bombshell on '90 Day Fiance: Love in Paradise’ (EXCLUSIVE CLIP)

When a couple decides to enter the 90 Day Fiancé universe, they know they will share the intimate moments of their relationship. Throughout the TLC show’s run, we’ve watched many couples get engaged, married, have children, and even divorce on camera. The concept is something most of us “regular people” wouldn’t be able to do, but somehow, the 90 Day cast has become pros at exposing their lives season after season.

During Season 4 of 90 Day Fiance: Love In Paradise, one couple, Shawn Finch and Alliya Batista, intrigued fans with their story.

Shawn, who is based in New York, and Alliya from Brazil spent the season navigating Alliya embracing her feminine side.

While we’ve seen how Alliya’s transition affects her and Shawn’s relationship, an exclusive clip from a new 90-Day Fiance: Love in Paradise episode shows there’s a lot more to learn about them and their relationship status.

Alliya and Shawn met on a dating app in 2020. Their 90 Day Fiance: Love in Paradise debut shows Shawn staying with Alliya in Brazil.

As anyone who has lived with a partner knows, when you spend every moment with them, you also choose to hang out with their inner circle. In the exclusive clip for Season 4, Episode 8, Alliya briefly discusses Shawn and her friend Jackie’s tension over Jackie’s “personal questions about his financials.”

The swimsuit designer soon reveals in the clip that Jackie and Shawn’s growing feud isn’t their only problem. During Alliya's hair appointment, Jackie asks Alliya how their sex life has been since he’s been in Brazil.

After a bit of hesitation, Alliya revealed they hadn’t been having sex “at all.” She then shares the reason for their drought, which has to do with their — plot twist — open relationship.

“I think it's more like I was avoiding it because, before having sex and stuff, I think we need to first have conversations [about] my concerns about the open relationship,” Alliya tells Jackie.

It’s safe to say that we all had the same reaction as Jackie following Alliya’s reveal in the 90 Day Fiance: Love in Paradise clip.

In the scene, Jackie’s face goes from understanding to pure shock after listening to Alliya admit, for the first time, that she and Shawn can date other people if they choose.

While we must wait to see what Jackie says to Alliya after her reveal (the clip ends after she asks, “Do you have an open relationship?), we can confirm her opinion doesn’t break Alliya and Shawn’s union. In a previous episode, Alliya and Shawn got engaged on her 25th birthday.

In the clip, she also reveals that she’s planning to move to the U.S. to be with her fiance.
