T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach's Scandalous Relationship Explained

At the time, some sources insisted that both T.J. and Amy were still with their respective spouses when their relationship went from professional to personal.

Here’s what we know about the former GMA hosts’ relationship, including what T.J. and Amy have said about it — and the pretty incredible thing that happened with their spouses in the aftermath.

Soon after the scandal made headlines, Page Six reported that T.J. and Amy’s romance had actually started in March of 2022 when the two anchors were training for the New York City Half Marathon. In August 2022, they reportedly each came clean to their spouses and left them for one another.

However, according to a December 2022 report from People, the GMA stars did not actually date until they were already separated from their spouses, with a source telling the outlet, "This was two consenting adults who were each separated. They both broke up with their spouses in August [2022] within weeks of each other. The relationship didn't start until after that."

No matter what happened behind closed doors, it wasn’t until November 2022 that news of the buzzy affair made headlines, with the Daily Mail publishing photos of the pair out and about in the city and upstate New York, clearly behaving like more than just colleagues, including one image that showed the couple holding hands and another of T.J. appearing to place his hand on Amy’s rear end.

In January 2023, T.J. and Amy exited GMA.

Fast-forward to December 2023, and T.J. and Amy spoke out about their relationship in the first episode of their joint iHeartRadio podcast. They said they "lost the jobs [they] love" because of their relationship, but insisted that they were already separated from their spouses when their relationship began.

“To be clear, we were outed as being in a relationship, but everyone else thought we were being outed as adulterers — being outed as cheating on our spouses — and it wasn’t the case,” T.J. said on the show. He also noted that they were both "in divorce proceedings" when they began their relationship.

But after their podcast premiere, Page Six published a report reiterating its prior claims from sources who said that the pair were still together with their spouses when they began their relationship, and that the supposed affair was a major factor in both couples' divorces.

Amy was married to someone we've all known and loved. Remember Andrew Shue from Melrose Place? That’s right — the Amy married Billy Campbell! The couple, who wed in 2010 and finalized their divorce in March 2023, did not have children together; however, Amy and Andrew were each married before and collectively shared five kids from their previous relationships.

(Interestingly, Radar Online reported that the famous spouses sold their multi-million dollar New York City apartment in September 2022, which lines up with the timeline of Amy and T.J. reportedly disclosing their newfound love to their current partners in August 2022 and moving on together.)

For his part, T.J. said “I do” to Marilee Fiebig the same year that Amy and Andrew did, and finalized their divorce in October 2023. The couple share one daughter. T.J. has also been married twice and has two kids from his past union.

In December 2023, Page Six reported that Marilee and Andrew had bonded in the aftermath of the scandal — and had started dating six months earlier!

A source told the outlet that Andrew and Marilee had "connected over their values" and had "moved on" from the pain.
