"Trader Joe's Karen" Has Meltdown After Being Told to Wear a Mask

Most grocery stores now require customers to wear a mask. But there's already been plenty of viral videos of people trying to get away without wearing one. Last week, a woman who refused to wear a face mask in a Starbucks went viral after she attempted to shame the barista for refusing to serve her. 

Some people have even tried passing off fake face mask exemption card with a seal which resembles that of the Department of Justice.

The most recent freak out comes from a San Fernando Valley Trader Joe's store.

According to TMZ, a woman came to the store wearing a face covering, but at some point while shopping, she took it off. A store manager told TMZ that people started approaching the woman telling her to put a mask on, but she refused.

That's when things got heated.

“This is day one,” the person recording the below video states. “This is opening day of Trader Joe’s in North Hollywood. This is Karen.”

The woman can then be seen throwing her basket as she yells: “You’re f**king Democratic pigs! All of you."

In another video, the woman states: “I have a breathing problem. My doctor would not let me wear a mask. So anyone harassing me to wear a mask, you guys are violating federal law. Get that on camera.”

According to TMZ, the woman was ordered to leave the store by managers, which she did.

"She says she has a breathing problem and that's why she took the mask off, but her lungs were filled with anger as her voice billowed through the store," the publication notes.

As you can imagine, the incident received a lot of attention on social media.

One user wrote: “'I have a breathing problem!' unhinged but physically fit Karen screams at top of her lungs as she’s escorted out of a Trader Joe’s in Los Angeles for refusing to wear a mask."

While another user added: "That Karen at Trader Joe’s flipping out that she can’t wear a mask because she has 'breathing problems' pisses me off. My dad has 1/4 lung function and still wears a mask in public. It isn’t that hard to give a shit about other people."

And another concluded: "This Trader Joe’s Karen is lying. No real doctor would tell a patient not to wear a mask during COVID-19. Even those with asthma, COPD, and other respiratory conditions should wear a mask in public. It won’t interfere with your breathing. It’ll save lives."

Just wear a mask, Karen.
