Before we get to the lawsuits, it's important to know that Trevor's contract with the City of Angels team was not the first professional MLB team he played for.
Previously, the pitcher represented the Cleveland Indians, and the Cincinnati Reds, earning an impressive $47 million for that run.
But in 2021, sexual assault allegations resulted in the star pitcher being placed on administrative leave with the Dodgers. He did not earn the full value of his contract, but instead, was able to keep his $10 million signing bonus, and $28 million of his salary for that year.
Lawsuits have plagued Trevor Bauer for years.
Trevor, who currently plays for Mexico's Diablos Rojos, and has talked about a return to MLB, has been in and out of trouble with the law due to a string of sexual assault allegations.
The first accuser, Lindsey Hill, engaged in a back-and-forth legal battle with the former MLB pitcher, with her first attempting to get a restraining order against him, and Trevor suing her for defamation, per ESPN.
Ultimately, the case was settled for a reported $300,000, but the damage was done beyond that, with Trevor having been unceremoniously suspended from the Dodgers.
Then, in April 2024, CNN reported that in another scandal involving a lawsuit against Trevor, accuser Darcy Adanna Esemonu is being charged with engaging in “fraudulent schemes and artifices” against him!
The charges of extortion revolve around her allegedly fraudulent claim that she was pregnant with the baseball player's child, when she was not, and attempting to seek financial gain from the lie.
Ultimately, Trevor is alleging she sought $1.6 million in exchange for terminating the pregnancy.
At time of writing, she is suing him for assault, and he is suing her for extortion. Both cases are still pending.
