Why is Marie Osmond leaving 'The Talk'?
Following the news of her departure, the 60-year-old released the following statement: "One of the highlights of my year at The Talk was working with my dear friend John Redmann and I’m excited to continue our working relationship on several projects we are developing."
She continued, "Also, my husband and I just dropped our last two kids off at college, we looked at each other, laughed, and remembered we hadn’t been this alone together since 1982!! So, at this stage of my life, I’m looking forward to spending more time with him and visiting all the kids/grandkids."
While Marie continues to make more time for her personal life, she also is focused on other projects. She recently completed production in the Lifetime holiday movie The Christmas Edition, and reportedly has two more films in the works.
Was Marie Osmond fired from 'The Talk'?
According to The Sun, Marie was fired from the morning show series because her "opinions were viewed as different because she had conservative views and often maintained a strong stance on many subjects.” An insider told the outlet that the entertainer "suspected" her contract would not be renewed for the upcoming season.
“The dynamics between the women were often strained and Marie appeared to be on one side of the argument, while everyone else was on the other," a source told The Sun. Adding, “There was often times when the show seemed to air clear divides between the outspoken women."
Who will replace Marie Osmond on 'The Talk'?
With Season 11 reportedly beginning production later this month, fans are wondering who will replace Marie as a co-host. According to Deadline, The Talk will continue with the remaining panelists until a new co-host is announced.
Marie's exit is another major change to the lineup of hosts in the last few years. Before audiences said goodbye to longtime host Sara, viewers also watched Aisha Tyler and Julie Chen Moonves leave The Talk.
