Does Wayne Brady have kids?

Wayne has one child — daughter Maīle Maīle Masako Brady — whom he shares with ex-wife Mandie Taketa.

From 1999 to 2008, Wayne was married to Mandie — with whom he still runs the production company A Wayne & Mandie Creative — and the former couple welcomed Maīle together on Feb. 3, 2003, per People.

“My ex-wife, Mandie, and I, we have a different and, I think, a very special relationship than a lot of people that co-parent,” Wayne told Access Hollywood in 2020. “For the entire duration of her life, we have co-parented as best friends. We’ve also lived, like, seven minutes away from each other at the most. Right now, we live virtually next door to each other.”

Wayne told People a year earlier that Maīle approved of his competing on The Masked Singer Season 2. “I conferred with my daughter because the coolest person is always going to be your 16-year-old daughter, and I asked her what she thought about me doing it, and I asked her mom, Mandie, so between Mandie and Maīle, I got the go-ahead,” he said at the time.

Maīle was also unfazed by her father’s coming-out. “I just said, ‘OK,’” she told People with a smile in 2023.

Wayne Brady is also a “duncle” to Mandie’s son, Sundance-Isamu.

For more than a dozen years now, Mandie has been in a relationship with Jason Fordham, who handles cinematography and post-production work for Mandie and Wayne’s production company, per Variety. And in September 2021, Mandie and Jason adopted son Sundance-Isamu and named Wayne as the little one’s godfather.

“He’s gonna call me ‘Duncle’ — daddy-uncle — because I plan on being around and doing all that stuff,” Wayne said in an Instagram video at the time.

In that video’s caption, the Whose Line comedian said, “All children will know is love if that’s what you show them. I’m honored to be in his life as his ‘Duncle,’ and I love Mandie and Jason for including me in their journey.”

And in June 2023, Wayne posted a Father’s Day tribute to Jason on Instagram. “What a joy it’s been to watch you become a dad to Sundance,” he wrote. “Too many words for one post. I love the relationship you have, the way he looks at you, the grace that you handle the ups and downs, and the incredible man and father you are, not just to Sunny, but to [Maīle] as well.”
