"I think it's better than the spicy crab I grew up on. I don't know how the MìLà people did it," Nigel said of the dish.

Spicy food isn't for everyone, but spicy food challenges are some of the most entertaining content on the internet. There's a reason every new Hot Ones video brings in millions of views — but there's a new spicy challenge to try your hand at.

The Y So Weak challenge was created by Nigel Ng, better known as Uncle Roger online, in collaboration with the Chinese food brand MìLà. The standup comedian and content creator has been critiquing others' cooking online for years now, and his character is ready to roast those who can't handle the heat in his limited-edition food challenge.

"[MìLà and I] had to brainstorm a little bit what would a joint product look like based on what they can make and what Uncle Roger likes so this is why we launched the Y So Weak creamy chili crab pasta," Nigel said in an interview with Distractify.

Before trying the challenge myself, Nigel and I talked about his collaboration with MìLà and how it came to be.

The creamy chili crab pasta is based on a dish Nigel ate frequently growing up.

When developing the dish for the challenge, Nigel said creamy chili crab pasta is something he would eat often growing up in Malaysia.

"We wanted to do something that is culturally relevant to myself and to the MìLà people, but also something a bit more premium than just noodles with the sauce," Nigel said. "And this is something special because, how often are you going to make chili crab at home?"

Preparing the dish is easy. The package comes frozen, with each spice level clearly labeled and separated, and two servings of noodles. Pick which level of spice you want and drop the frozen sauce packet in boiling water for 10 minutes, while the noodles are perfectly done after 13 minutes on the stove.

There are three levels to the Y So Weak challenge: the Nephew Sauce, the Uncle Sauce, and the Uncle Sauce paired with the Auntie Oil. The spice level increases as the challenge progresses.

"[Uncle Roger is] this no-nonsense guy who has no sympathy for people with food intolerances or people who can't eat spicy food," Nigel said, noting part of the reason he decided to make it a spice challenge was because of its alignment with his character. "He's a straight-talking Asian boomer, right? This middle-aged Asian guy. And I think it's something different. It's something funny, and it's something exciting to be able to be like, yeah, it's spicy and is not for everyone. Good luck."

We tried Uncle Roger's Y So Weak challenge — and it wasn't easy.

As a personal lover of spicy foods and noodles, this challenge seemed like a no-brainer — but the Nephew sauce alone was more than expected. The sauce was creamy and mixed beautifully with the noodles, but by the end of the bowl I was hiccuping and soothing my burning mouth with ice cubes. And this was the mildest option!

The Uncle sauce was similarly spicy, and despite being delicious, I conceded to the heat and called Uncle (pun intended) about halfway through — but not before trying it with the Auntie Oil, of course.

In an effort to be kind to my digestive tract (and not set myself up for a painful weekend), I only tried a couple of bites with the Auntie Oil — and the heat immediately kicked up significantly. It is not for the faint of heart (or tastebuds), as it's made with Carolina Reaper peppers.

The dish itself tastes absolutely delicious. Despite coming as a frozen package, the flakes of crab were the perfect texture to complement the chili sauce. It was a satisfying (if painful) dinner, and if I hadn't felt the heat burn through my esophagus on the way down I'd consider stocking up and adding it to my regular meal rotation.

"I think it's better than the spicy crab I grew up on. I don't know how the MìLà people did it... I think they nailed something really amazing here," Nigel said, noting that he has packs of them in his own freezer at home. "It's the right amount of creaminess and the spice really cuts through it."

The Y So Weak spicy chili crab pasta is available now on MìLà's website for a limited time for those who think they can handle the heat.
