Wait, What is 'sMothered's' Kathy Crispino's Actual Job Again?

Kathy Crispino, 60, is half of the "Mamma Mia" duo on TLC's reality series sMothered, on which she appears with her 34-year-old daughter, Cristina. The Chicago-area duo do everything together, as they live five houses apart from each other. This includes shopping together, picking out clothes to wear, and attending concerts together. 

But, having seen their lavish lifestyles, flashy bags, and ornate homes, you may be curious: What does Kathy actually do for a living? 

It's easy to look at Kathy and wonder where she has the money to keep up with the Joneses with her designer bags, multiple children, and fun excursions she goes on. Plus, she comes from a large Italian family with lots of children, and that means there's a lot of things going on at once. We've investigated to see what kind of insight we might be able to have into Kathy's life and her living, but regretfully, it isn't as clear of a portrait as we wanted. 

After a careful and thorough investigation online, it doesn't appear that Kathy Crispino has shared this information, at least publicly. Her public Facebook page does not include this information, nor does her Twitter or Instagram accounts. It appears she doesn't use the internet much beyond sharing photos of her family or the fun things she's doing, but from her home, Christian Louboutin heel purchases, and wardrobe, it appears she and her family are fairly well-off. 

Kathy makes no secret of her love for big hair, '80s rock, and flashy accessories, but she doesn't talk much about her personal life. However, her daughter, Cristina, has indicated that she was a former dance instructor at Turning Point Dance Studio and studied business administration at Dominican University. It's highly possible Kathy worked alongside Cristina in some capacity before the pair joined the show, given their extreme closeness. But at present, there's no way to know exactly. 

Kathy's husband Joseph Michael Crispino died at the age of 76 in 2019. Kathy may have been a stay-at-home mom while Joseph ran a family business — much like daughter Cristina's husband, Carlo, runs a family pizza joint. Perhaps he was the sole breadwinner until Kathy joined sMothered with daughter Cristina, and things have worked out for the pair monetarily due to how popular the show has become. Whatever the case may be, it seems Kathy would likely miss her daughter too much if she worked.

Still, it's a question that many have on their minds, and for good reason. It seems this Chicago family is living very comfortably, and many aspects of their lives certainly do look favorable. Perhaps as the show wears on, we'll continue to learn more about Kathy and the rest of the mom and daughter duos on the show. There has yet to be a second season announcement just yet, despite the show clearly catching on, so we'll have to wait and see what happens.
