The once-heralded "King of Instagram," Dan Bilzerian has 32 million followers and boasts about life as a poker player, traveling the world and posting his hangouts with Andrew Tate and various models.
But the influencer hasn't posted on his large platform in about a year, leaving his followers curious about what happened to him. It seems that in between the lavish parties and controversial lifestyle, the creator has taken a step back from his platform.
What happened to Dan Bilzerian? He has stepped away from the internet.
Although this is already pretty clear from his lack of posts on Instagram, it seems that Dan has decided to step away from his large platform. This isn't the first time he has taken a break from posting online. He took a similar hiatus back in 2022 when he didn't post on the platform for more than six months. In an interview with InsideHook, Dan shared why he stepped away from Instagram — and many of his points likely still stand.
"I just lived in the circus for so long that I kind of just — I really needed a break," Dan said at the time. "I’ve said this before, but I feel like it’s like a video game that I beat five years ago and I’m tired of playing it."
Dan first rose to internet fame in 2010, posting about his lavish lifestyle and showing off the money he claimed to win from gambling. The actual source of his wealth has been questioned many times. There are some claims that he's actually benefiting from generational wealth.
"I just wanted to see if I could become famous," Dan told the outlet of his decision to pursue internet fame. "It was like a mountain I wanted to climb. I was getting out of poker and I felt like this would be a good transition to open doors, to do other things."
But back in 2022, Dan claimed he had "done everything."
"I feel like I did all the things that I wanted to do that people would find impressive," he said. "So I’ve been more focused recently on just kind of living in the moment and having fun versus trying to show everybody that I’m having fun."
Although Dan still occasionally appears in interviews and gives talks, he rarely posts on his personal platform anymore.
Dan Bilzerian is still active on Twitter.
So much of Dan's platform was based on the photos and videos he posted on Instagram, it seems he's pouring more time into other platforms. Although he hasn't posted on Instagram since 2023, Dan has continued to post his political takes on Twitter.
The creator has never been known for his particularly liberal views, although on Memorial Day he seemed to take a clear stand on the Israel and Palestine conflict — which has led to some nasty comments on his Instagram.
In a series of tweets, the former poker player said he wanted "all of our congressmen to spend the day petting all the money Israel is giving you to support their terrorist activities," clarifying in a follow-up tweet that he is not pro-Israel.
