What happened to 'The Carton Show'?

Fans of The Carton Show spent much of the week worrying that the show was gone for good. They shared their concerns on X (formerly Twitter).

"What is going on with the show I haven’t got it at all this week," one user asked in response to one of Craig Carton's pinned videos on X.

Another asked, "Are you guys not on Sirius anymore? Past three days I go to listen to you and you’re not on."

Although the explanation hasn't been super widespread, it seems that fans of the show don't need to worry that it's gone for good.

"I’m glad you’ll be back next week missed you guys but much deserved!" one user wrote in response to Cody's tweet.

So, based on the show's history, it's likely The Carton Show may simply taking a week break and could return during the week of Aug. 12, 2024, unless the vacation is longer this time around.

'The Carton Show' is still fairly new to FS1.

Although it has clearly already developed a solid fanbase, The Carton Show is still fairly new to FS1 airwaves. The show debuted in September 2022. Craig was chosen as the host in part because of his long career working in radio. While Craig continued to host an afternoon radio show on WFAN when his morning show first launched, he announced in June 2023 that he would be leaving WFAN.

Craig ultimately decided to leave WFAN so that he could focus on The Carton Show and his family. Back in 2023, per Audacity, he explained, “The ultimate reasons are my kids, who are my everything. For too long a period in my life, I took that for granted, and I wish I could go back in time and figure out why I made some of the decisions I made."

He added that he wanted to use this opperunity "to be a better dad, husband, brother, son, and friend," but that he didn't think he could so all that juggling both roles. "So for me, that means June 30 is my last day here at WFAN. It’s a difficult decision, but I’m really looking forward to have one job, and have the rest of my day to be a great dad, fingers crossed a great husband, and let us lead normal lives.”

Craig Carton was arrested in 2017.

Craig was arrested in September 2017 on charges of wire and securities fraud, and he resigned from his post at WFAN at that time. Craig's trial was held the next year, and he was eventually convicted and sentenced in 2019 to serve three and a half years in prison. Craig was released in June 2020 and sentenced to home confinement.

He returned to his WFAN show just a few months later. While his prison sentence could have derailed his career completely, it hasn’t. However, each time The Carton Show takes a brief hiatus, fans tend to grow a little worried.
