"We don't share it much, but we're really religious. We start our day with a group chat with a Bible verse from my mom," said Kim.

The Kardashian family has always been open about their faith as Christianity is a critical part of their life. "We don't share it much, but we're really religious. We start our day with a group chat with a Bible verse from my mom, and everyone chimes in on the meaning of it. We are very Christian — and our work ethic and our discipline comes from so many years at Catholic school," Kim Kardashian told Vogue.

Kris Jenner even started a church — a normal thing to do, right? Well, it turns out that it's way more complicated than that. Her connection to the church isn't as clean-cut as some tabloids make it out to be, so we'll help clear up any confusion.

What is the Kardashian church?

Kris crossed paths with a pastor named Brad and learned about his difficult past. Since he wasn't actively in the ministry, she decided to help him in doing so. "He decided to re-enter ministry and start a church focused on redemption, second chances, and the belief that people can have a fresh start with God," explains the church's website.

While they admit that Kris "generously paid the rent for the theater space where the congregation met and also paid Pastor Brad's salary," they deny that it's her church in the way the media made it out to be.

Pastor Brad himself is the founder of the California Community Church in Agoura Hills, Calif., but Kris provided the funding. However, she is a member of the church. "She has not served on the leadership Board of the church, nor does she desire to," adds the website.

By the way, despite the media reports, the church maintains that they don't expect people to doll out a $1,000 membership fee. They wrote, "There is absolutely no mandatory fee or amount required from anyone who is part of the church. We genuinely don’t know where that rumor originated, but no one in our church is required to give. We are an outreach-focused church."

The church added, "Therefore, we deeply care about people visiting and experiencing a welcoming environment. A membership fee would make no sense to our mission. All donations are voluntary."

Does Kanye West own a church?

Despite all his highs and lows, Kanye West has always claimed to be a man of faith. At one point, the general public seemed to think that he owned a church, but that wasn't quite true.

Kanye was holding services occasionally with a hand-selected gospel choir — Sunday Service Choir. These services were often grandiose and drew a large celebrity crowd, including the Kardashian family before Kanye and Kim got divorced.

While Kanye doesn't own an operational church, he did purchase a property from a church. He bought the Cornerstone Christian Church in Northridge, Los Angeles in March 2023.

However, it came with a lot of pushback. The neighbors organized a petition with 12,000 signatures, urging the church to not sell the property to the controversial figure.

Kanye ended up essentially leaving the property to rot. According to court documents obtained by The Mirror, he originally planned to "convert his Calabasas property into a school for Donda."

A former employee alleged that workers were asked to do "dangerous" tasks to open the campus up within a matter of weeks. The vision never came to true fruition.
