We'd give anything to be back in the early '00s, watching Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie performing mundane and normal jobs. After all, those socialites had no idea what was in store for them when they started shooting The Simple Life.

Well, luckily, a reality show is on its way to streaming which will feature the two stars. However, it doesn't look like it will be the exact same premise as the original.

What is 'The Simple Life' reboot about?

"It’s been 20 years since Paris and I worked together," Nicole said during a May 2024 appearance on Good Morning America. "We wanted to celebrate that. I can’t tell you too much right now, but we’ve worked together to create something very special and exciting. I can’t wait for it to come out.”

Nicole made it clear that this wasn't exactly a reboot and moreso something entirely new. They've been teasing the show for a while now, starting with a May 2024 post made by Paris and the Peacock network which was captioned, "New Era. Same Besties. Coming soon to Peacock."

Despite claims that the show is about something different, the teasers do reference parts of The Simple Life. Specifically, it plays their famous "sanasa, sanasa" song. It's giving mixed signals.

Nicole previously confessed that it wouldn't be easy for them to just pick up and do a The Simple Life-styled show anymore in their lives. Unlike when they were young, they have plenty of other commitments to square away.

"We'd leave our lives for a month, and we didn't have any phones," Nicole told Entertainment Weekly in 2020. "We're almost 40 years old, and I can't imagine leaving my kids. We've got real jobs now. We were 20 or 21 when we did it."

Now, fans are brimming with excitement over potentially seeing their faves back on the screen again. "I JUST THREW MY PHONE ACROSS THE COFFEE SHOP," one wrote on Instagram in response to the teaser. Another added: "You have no idea how happy this makes me."

Even stars and brands got involved, expressing their excitement. Walmart commented that the company was looking forward to "sliving" again. Snooki commented: "STAHPPPPPPPP."

How to watch 'The Simple Life' reboot.

While we're waiting for more information on the premise, we can at least start planning how to watch the show. Details haven't formally been revealed; however, as per the teaser, they'll be working with the subscription service Peacock on the project.

This shouldn't come as too much of a shock to fans. After all, Paris worked with Peacock for her show Paris in Love, which ran for two seasons and followed the star's journey to matrimony with her now-husband Carter Reum.

However, Paris also did work with Netflix in the past, too, for Cooking With Paris. As for Nicole, she hasn't been as looped into the reality show world as her co-star lately, but she had a faux-reality show called Candidly Nicole that ran for two seasons from 2014–'15 on VH1.
