After 20 seasons, Grey's Anatomy is still going. The long-running medical drama, written by Shonda Rhimes, has seen almost an entire turnover of its cast (and plenty of fan-favorite characters' deaths) throughout the seasons. Though Ellen Pompeo, who plays the long-standing lead Meredith Grey, will not be returning for the show's next season, it still seems like there's no end in sight for the show.
Thankfully, for those who didn't watch the last season as it aired live, Season 20 will make its way to Netflix to add another handful of episodes to your next binge. But when does the newest season hit the streaming service? Here's what to know.
When does Season 20 of 'Grey's Anatomy' hit Netflix?
Unfortunately, Grey's Anatomy fans will have to wait until the fall to stream the newest season on Netflix. At this time, there is not an exact date from Netflix as to when the new season will be added, but rest assured it'll be before the year is out.
Currently, Netflix has all of the 19 previous seasons, so for those who haven't yet caught up to the most reason season, there's plenty of time before Season 20 hits the streaming service.
To date, Grey's Anatomy has aired 430 episodes, and only 10 of those (the entirety of Season 20) is not available on Netflix. This means you easily have hundreds of hours of content at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital to binge before the new season drops.
You can watch all of the seasons of 'Grey's Anatomy' on Hulu.
Though Season 20 may not yet be available on Netflix, those with a Hulu subscription can start watching the most recent season right away. Though Netflix has been recognized as the home for past seasons of Grey's for years, Hulu finally has all 20 seasons. As part of ABC's partnership with Hulu, all new episodes are available to stream on Hulu the day after they air, drastically decreasing the waiting time for fans who are all caught up.
Previously, Hulu only had a couple of the more recent seasons available for subscribers to watch, but recently it acquired all 20 seasons. Now those who are up to date with the long-running drama can drive right back in to the latest season, only to start again from the beginning once they run out of episodes.
When does Season 21 of 'Grey's Anatomy' premiere?
Similar to Season 20's addition to Netflix, Season 21 of Grey's Anatomy is expected to premiere in the fall of 2024. At this time, there is not an exact premiere date available, but it's expected to air following its traditional schedule, premiering sometime in September.
Though Ellen technically said her goodbyes to the staff at Grey Sloan at the end of Season 19, she's continued to make sporadic appearances throughout the series. Expect her to appear more throughout Season 21.
