The one thing about The Mole that remains the same from season to season is its general format and the fact that saboteur hides among the players. But something that changes is where The Mole is filmed. And Season 2 takes contestants to a totally new location that leaves the players wondering what's coming next as they move to different places for different challenges.
The first season of the Netflix competition reality show was filmed in Australia. It makes sense for a tropical locale to be the setting for a show where the competitions can have players swimming in the ocean for clues or sweating through a grueling game that forces them to make tough decisions together. And the second season follows suit, even if it was filmed somewhere new.
Where was Season 2 of 'The Mole' filmed?
Season 2 of The Mole was filmed entirely in Malaysia. If that isn't enough to take some of the contestants out of their comfort zones and place them in precarious situations all over the country, then we don't know what is. They start off in a field seemingly in the middle of nowhere, but as the players embark on different challenges, they're taken to different places around the region.
Throughout the first five episodes of The Mole's second season, the contestants travel from the countryside to the city and back again. Some of the more exact locations include Tioman Island off the coast of Malaysia in Episode 2 and Episode 4's challenge location in Kuala Lumpur, which is the capital of Malaysia.
They also get to stay in some pretty swanky hotel rooms along the way, for what it's worth. At one point, one of the players, Quaylyn, even comments that the hotel room is nicer than his place back home. And, he adds, that's one reason why he intends to win the prize money. Hey, it's not a bad motivation, that's for sure.
How long do they film 'The Mole'?
Eliminations on The Mole don't happen every episode or every week, as is the case with some reality competition shows. Because of that, the passage of time is a little difficult to follow if you want to know how long they film The Mole each season. But when Season 2 contestant Deanna shared a trailer on Twitter, she wrote, “Remember when I vanished for almost two months?”
So for most players, filming takes several weeks each season on The Mole. And, chances are, that time is less or more depending on how far the contestants get.
