With the 2024 U.S. Open in full swing, fans have eagerly waited to see if Tiger Woods will win his fourth title. Not to mention, a tidy sum of the $20 million prize.

The professional golfer has been seen on the course with his son, Charlie, who is working as his swing consultant. But that isn't the only important member of his team. He also has a new golf caddie.

In case you didn't know, a golf caddie is a very important job. They're responsible for holding a golfer’s bag, handing the right clubs so the golfer can make their shots, and using their golf knowledge to assist the player. They're essentially the golfer’s partner on the course, so it matters who they choose.

So, who is Tiger Woods's caddie? Meet the man behind the bag.

Who is Tiger Woods's new caddie? Meet Lance Bennett.

Lance has been a caddie on the PGA tour circuit since 2003. He has worked with several big names, such as Matt Kuchar, Sungjae Im, and Davis Riley.

Before Lance, Tiger’s longtime caddie was Steve Williams, followed by Joe LaCava. When Tiger underwent surgery for his right ankle, he and Joe parted ways amicably. Joe has worked for Patrick Cantlay since then. Tiger and Lance partnered up in February 2024 at the Genesis International.

However, they first crossed paths when Lance caddied for Matt Kuchar in 2013. Tiger was around the pair a lot since he and Matt hit it off so well (just take a look at this viral moment between them). This laid the groundwork for Tiger and Lance to work together eventually.

The professional golfer said they connected immediately in a press conference ahead of the Genesis International.

“As far as Lance is concerned, I’ve had a great relationship with him over the years going back to when he caddied for [Matt Kuchar] and when we played at the Presidents Cup together back in, what, Muirfield Village," Tiger said.

“Very down to earth, very loyal and how he conversated through the years, I’ve also taken notice of that,” Tiger added. “We’ve had the same type of feels in how we look at the golf course and how we read putts; they’re very similar."

He added, “I think it’s a great — we’re going to be a great team and really looking forward to the challenge.”

What is Lance Bennett’s salary?

As of now, it isn't clear what Lance’s salary will be as Tiger’s caddie. However, it’s estimated that most PGA Tour caddies make between $1,500 and $4,000 a week. Since Tiger is estimated to have a net worth of $1.1 billion, it’s fair to assume that Lance is getting paid handsomely.
