The world of Vanderpump Rules looked very different in 2019. Scandoval wasn't even a potential thought as the cast filmed the eighth season. Season 8 also featured newbie Danica Dow, who was the youngest person to hold the position of assistant manager in SUR's history. Danica dealt with her fair share of drama both on and off screen. Her alleged actions were strong enough for fellow cast members to request that she be fired, but was she? Why did Danica Dow leave Vanderpump Rules?

The season that Danica made her debut and subsequent departure had plenty going on from the beginning. A major focal point was the pending nuptials of Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright, as well as interpersonal issues between Scheana Shay and Dayna Kathan over the affections of Max Boyens. Danica's issues were also primarily interpersonal. She even got a dressing down from Lisa Vanderpump about her attitude affecting the workplace. But is this why she left the series?

Why did Danica Dow leave 'Vanderpump Rules'?

As the youngest assistant manager in SUR's history, Danica had to assert herself, but unfortunately, the way she asserted herself rubbed several of the other staff members the wrong way. However, her attitude wasn't the official reason that Danica never returned to the series. During the season premiere party at Tom Tom, Danica got into a physical altercation with another woman. This altercation is one of two likely reasons that Danica didn't return after Season 8.

Danica and her ex-boyfriend, Brett Willis, had a volatile relationship.

There's another issue that likely led to Danica's removal from the cast. In addition to the incident at the premiere party, Danica had issues with her then-boyfriend, Brett Willis, who was also working at SUR at the time. Their relationship was incredibly volatile, and there was an incident at SUR where she pushed Brett during a disagreement. Lisa Vanderpump to suspend Danica for two weeks. But it's what happened later with the couple that garnered a lot of attention.

Danica and Brett both filed restraining orders against each other in 2020.

The relationship between Danica and Brett ended with both of them taking legal action against each other. Danica filed for a restraining order against Brett. Her suit alleged that Brett broke into her home, destroyed her clothes, and left threatening notes. The suit also alleged that Brett was stalking her. Brett filed shortly after, saying that Danica was incredibly violent toward him during their relationship. Her case was dismissed after she failed to show up at court.

Danica spilled all the tea on her 'VPR' cast friendships on an Instagram Live.

In 2021, Danica hopped on Instagram Live to answer fan questions and spill some tea on where she stands with Vanderpump Rules cast. Danica shared that she was still very close with Dayna, who also left the series after Season 8. She also shared that she was in a new relationship and seemed quite happy at the time.
