Here's the Real Reason Savannah and Her Mom Left 'Dance Moms' for Good
Updated July 16 2019, 1:48 p.m. ET
There has been more than one casualty on this season of Dance Moms. After Abby Lee Miller sent home fan-favorite Brady Farrar for being too good (yes, we are not joking), another member of the ALDC has left the studio.
Savannah Kristich and her mom Erin also didn't survive Season 8 of the Lifetime series, and fans are confused AF. "Can't believe Savannah is ghosting the ALDC even though she tops this week's pyramid," one viewer tweeted. Another added, "I’m so so sad — I love Savannah so so much."
So, why did Savannah and her mom leave Dance Moms?
Initially, when Savannah did not show up to practice, dance mom Michelle claimed that Savannah left because she did not want to "lose to Elliana." However, this excuse did not make sense since they are on the same team and close friends.
"I know there is rivalry, but ultimately, it's about the team," Abby Lee said at the time. After the episode aired, Savannah shared an update with fans on her Instagram story.
"Don't believe everything you hear," she captioned a photo with Elli. Now, fans are convinced that Savannah actually left due to commitments to Radix, a dance competition where she won Best Mini Female Core Performer in 2018. She was also seen assisting at Radix, according to Shook Dance Moms.
After the episode, Savannah and Elli also teased a duet they were working on together, further proving that there is no bad blood between the dancers.
"It is true, the duet is on," Elli wrote on Instagram. "Sav and her mom did leave bc of my mom and me but for good reasons... they are true friends."
Will Savannah ever return to Dance Moms?
If what Elli posted is true, we don't see Savannah or her mom going back to Abby Lee Miller's dance company. Especially when she is assisting at a top-tier dance competition with professional choreographers and the fact that most of her solos didn't make the cut on Dance Moms.
What are Savannah and her mom up to today?
Savannah recently shared a video of herself dancing at Radix, writing, "This was my very last class as the @radixdance Mini Core Performer. I’m so happy that @crschwartz was in this final class of the year dancing with me!"
She also made the Top 3 at The Dance Awards, so it's safe to say leaving Dance Moms did not hurt her career. "I have some really cool projects and events coming up that I’m so excited to share with everyone," Savannah shared on July 10. "The fun starts tomorrow! Can anyone guess what I’ll be doing?"
Good luck, Sav! Watch Dance Moms on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. EST on Lifetime.
