Angela's Mask Was a Highlight of the '90 Day Fiancé' Tell-All
Updated Sept. 28 2020, 4:38 p.m. ET
There are plenty of things to question about Angela Deem on 90 Day Fiancé, but the one that has fans scratching their heads right now is the face mask she wore during part one of the Season 5 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? tell-all. Even though the special was filmed remotely, with each cast member or couple in their respective homes, Angela still wore a black face mask the entire time.
Was she making a point about wearing masks in general to stave off the spread of COVID-19? Or was it Angela’s way of wearing a mask at home to maintain her habit of needing to wear one as a hospice nursing assistant? Whatever Angela’s reason was, she didn't go too in-depth about it during part one of the tell-all, in which a heavy chunk of her and husband Michael Ilesanmi’s segment was focused on their joint bachelor / bachelorette party from Hell. Still, fans are curious.
Why is Angela wearing a mask at the '90 Day Fiancé' tell-all?
Ahead of the 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? tell-all, fans wondered if the show’s stars would be wearing masks and be in-studio, as the location has remained the same for most of the previous seasons. But when it was announced that the tell-all would be virtual, it meant no need for safety masks in place. Angela still wore a face covering, however, leading viewers to wonder why she needed one at all, since she was safely at home during the virtual tell-all.
At the start of the tell-all, host Shaun Robinson asked Angela if she was wearing the mask for social distancing due to the pandemic. Angela explained that the mask was in place because of upcoming dental work.
"I have some dental work getting ready to go on," she said. "I’ve got an abscess." She then explained that she can't allow air to get into the affected area in her mouth, so the mask was needed for not only covering her mouth where the dental work was unfinished, but for her own safety.
Things weren't easy for Angela after her mom died.
Angela and Michael have been able to navigate their long-distance marriage during an uncertain time a lot easier than some couples might. They said on the tell-all that they are able to move past issues and arguments a little more easily these days, which is good for Angela, as she continues to deal with the aftermath of losing her mom.
During Season 5 of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?, Angela’s mom died just days after she rushed home following her Nigerian wedding ceremony. She was able to say goodbye, but, she admitted, it was hard to hold herself together and hold the family together alone, without Michael physically by her side.
Are Angela and Michael still married after '90 Day Fiancé'?
Even though Michael didn't "do the BJ" at his and Angela’s joint bachelor / bachelorette party, he did have to deal with her wrath after taking her to what appeared to be a strip club, unbeknownst to him. Afterward, Angela still married him, however. And, judging by Instagram, Angela hasn't demanded a divorce yet.
Angela and Michael’s shared Instagram account still has several photos of them together with lots of heart emojis in the captions. Yes, things could get hairy during the other two parts of the tell-all. But they honestly seem more secure together than ever and with the roller coaster that has been their relationship, that’s certainly promising.
